I assumed Francis Ford Coppola had his own thread for years. He's 85 years old and directed some of the most iconic films ever made.

I like one of the top two and dislike the other. Not saying which yet, because that'll suddenly make it even more fucking popular.

If he wasn't the oldest remaining survivor and his significance only seemed to come from that, my judgement may be different (e.g. I would likely have accepted both of these men who died in 2007 and 2000 as a point in this competition, but I don't think they would have even been picked or known about since they were not significant figures) I choose not to award the points for the longest lasting survivor of a historical event, who doesn't seem to be a significant figure other than his longevity. I have tried to make this decision in good faith and have done many minutes of googling in order to consider the fame of his book and his post WW2 life. If your first sub dies, feel free to remind us and they may count instead. Once again, the relevant rule/guideline, which I bolded in the first post of this forum: Candidates cannot be famous solely for the fact they are likely to die imminently - this includes people famous only for their advanced age.

Thousands of missiles fired at Gaza, we've not looked to shoot down a single one. A foreign embassy flattened, we didn't say a word. Now we're blowing up Iranian missiles not aimed at us. This is bound to end well.

Sunak was so quick out of the traps with his statement on the Iran attack on Israel. (Completely silent of course when Israel attacked the embassy in Syria). So does he think getting involved will be his Falklands moment? He's seriously deluded if he thinks dragging the UK into this right now has much support in this country. Israel should exist, but this isn't our fight. Providing arms to Israel is really dodgy given what's going on in Gaza - an escalation which puts our bases in Cyprus and inevitably our own territory at risk isn't what I'd call a good move. This isn't a vote winner. But as he clings to the last days of his Government, he could do some serious damage to us. Without ever being elected.

This is just what I've always done. I looked at the doubles and pick the one I like best. There's one in the 08-09 round for Leona Lewis.

But Can’t Help Falling In Love isn’t a UK number 1 single, so it can’t be on the list. It’s tough, I know, but that’s how the charts worked. It’s either both as one, or neither.

Having spent some of my day off yesterday sorting out the 10s No.1s, ‘interesting’ is I’d say a nice, positive spin on what is an absolute calamity.

He's been working more in recent years than he has for decades though - Megalopolis is due to hit the festivals circuit next month, a project that he's been tinkering with since the late 70s and had to sell his winefields to finance because it ballooned in production costs a la Apocalypse Now.

It might be of interest here to say that after Prince Richard dies, the Dukedom of Gloucester will cease to be Royal. After two generations they lose their Royal status. Richard's father Henry was a son of a monarch (George V) and Richard a grandson and first cousin of a monarch. After this the relationship of the Duke becomes too distant from the Crown. The same will apply to Kent when Prince Edward, the current Duke of Kent, dies. This is why Edinburgh was changed to a life peerage - to prevent the Dukedom going out of the immediate family.

It would be a bit silly (but this is Rishi we're talking about, so not entirely implausible) if he didn't. "Mr. Sunak, when is the election going to be?" "Oh, it was last week, I'm just not announcing it yet."
