Well that was unexpected but we pick ourselves up and start again, so I present to you By-Election Bingo II (2017-22) with increased picks. Just pick 50 MPs who you think might depart their seat before 2022 and I will keep score Death = 30 points Crimianl activity - 20 points Resignation - 10 points (reducing to 5 if they defect and regain their seat) The will be 10 point bonuses for unique picks and a 25 point bonus for the by-elction that wipes out the majority of the governing party and 50 point bonus if the by-election results brings down the government. Be warned this will try our patience as you will need to invest 5 years to play (but we thought that last time). PM me with your teams from June 9 onwards. I will give you until 30 June to have them all lined up. Lets see if we can get more players this time.

Why people are still bringing MediaMass as a source? It's debunking rumors that never even actually circulated... never really got the point of it other than having pages for every possible situation. I guess it gets a fair share of traffic because of that. Also, they are referring to Patti Smith the politician https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patti_Smith_(politician)

Two random and meaningless Sunday afternoon type facts. 1. If you take what her character Diana says about being there in Cambodia as a correspondent when she became a pensioner, then Stephanie Cole is still younger today than her character in Waiting for God. Which, incidentally, is a fine sitcom and is being repeated on one of the Freeview channels, Drama I think. 2. The row of luxury flats where I believe Peter Arne lived (and was murdered), going from the limited clues online, appears to host the Ecuadorian embassy which Assange is hiding in today. Not the exact building, but a curio quirk of history, I thought.

Ah, good. Alas, I feel 2015-17 version favourite "The Ghost" David Winnick is odds on to lose his seat in a few weeks. Terribly sad when likely open goals are taken away from you.

Don't want to fuel the legend that every Italian knows other Italians all over the world, but I know Valentino Musetti.

The Final scoreboard 70 Points RockHopperPenguin The Engineer Voice of Young Maryport Time 60 Points Bibliogryphon Shaun of the Dead Rotton Ali The Dead Cow 50 Points MPFC Deathray Rover and Out 40 Points Handrejka Msc Manuel 30 Points Young Willz Sir Creep Phantom Congrats to our four joint winners RockHopperPenguin, The Engineer, Voice of Young Maryport, & Time. With only six hits on the board the winners amassed their total with Meacher & Kaufman and one of either Goldmith or Khan none of the winners got Cameron or Hunt. However Theresa curtailing of the competition has robbed us of the joy when her majority finally diminishes. I suspect in the next parliament this will be more difficult as many elderly (or fat) MPs are quitting early (although not Skinner or Clarke) and there will probably not be the cliff edge approaching if there is a significant Tory majority. I will open a new thread for By-Election Bingo (2017-22) Thanks for playing everyone.

Some stonking Phil one-liners in yesterday's press. I didn't realise he once met a blind woman with a guide dog and jokingly told her there were now special dogs being bred to do the eating of anorexics! Classic

I thought Loretta Lynn was the Katharine Hepburn of Country.

I guess this is just another example of cultural clash between Muricans and Brits. Y'all don't think Loretta Lynn, Judge Wapner, or Pat Harrington are famous enough. Meanwhile, I never heard of Brian Matthew, Colin Dexter, or Desmond Carrington until I read posts about their death on these forums.

Noooo! One of my pet hates, and from you of all people! Starting a sentence with "OK So" Neither word is necessary.

I mentioned this thread to the wife last night. "Poster on Deathlist made shitloads of new threads the other week, including one for Loretta Lynn, who was neither ill or famous enough. Well, she's just had a stroke." "What do you mean? Loretta Lynn is very famous!" Well, that's me told by my own version of the Clapham bus knowledge test, then.

Just realised that this is my most successful pool entry to date with five hits -David Rockefeller, Colin Dexter, Emma Morano, Leo Baxendale and Brunhilde Pomsel!

Found this browsing twitter. But it is interesting. Cicely Tyson turns 94 in 2018 and can't go on forever, but will probably look great well into her late 90's. A noteworthy, but unpredictable candidate at that.

Ah, a form studying opportunity due out next week. A glam rock care home disguised as a new act: Quatro is who you might think - assuming you're under 50. Scott was/is in The Sweet and Powell drummed(s) with Slade
