A little old perhaps but it gave me a laugh. Did you know that the year before the divorce, Sir Paul gave Heather a plane for Xmas. The year before he gave her a Gilette Ladyshave for the other leg.

First Doctor episode: vaguest memories of Fenric. Which had to be turned off as it was "upsetting the wean". Many years later, I had to do the same for World Enough and Time. Life, it's cyclical, you know! First film - at the cinema? I think this was also The Aristocats, on one of its many Muirend Cinema (much missed) repeats. Wasn't there a Honey I Shrunk the Kids film around the late 80s? That's another contender. First gig: Some no name Glasgow band in that place down Renfield Lane. I don't do gigs, being antisocial. I did once have tickets for Nerina Pallot but wound up in hospital instead, a life lesson learned there.

I've decided to start a thread for 77 year old glamour puss and actress Raquel Welch. Not just because I think she is deserving and has more than enough name recognition to warrant her own thread but because she has unusually stopped posting on all of her social media accounts twitter, Instagram and Facebook four months ago. This is making me suspect something may well seriously be amiss with her health wise. Naturally there could be a reasonable alternative explanation but I suspect otherwise and think it is worth flagging up. Gorgeous picture is from her breakout film role that jumpstarted her career.

I was being a sarky git, LB! Also, write something funny? Well, there's always a first time.

The first goods delivery I made in Glasgow was rooflights to McLellan Galleries in Sauchiehall Street. I arrived in Glasgow in the evening and spent the night drinking in the Waterloo on Argyle Street before making the delivery the following morning; happy days.

First Doctor Episode: Pertwee falling out of the Tardis. First Film: The Aristocats. First Gig: Bronski Beat at the (now burned out) Victorias on Sauchiehall Street. First Celeb Crush: See avatar. (I still would).

I thought I'd merge the few existing iron lung posts into one helpful, if slightly niche, thread. Apart from the three remaining American survivors, there may still be a few more ventilator dwellers scattered across the globe, so please post sightings here.

Baby. Steve Miller Band, Tarrant County Convention Center, 1978. I genuinely can't remember what the first gig I attended was. (Note - this is slightly different from not remembering the first gig!) It would probably have been something at Oxford Town Hall c1971 or 1972. Possibly Genesis.

I bought Tescos own cuppa soup once, to have at work. I think a Tramps vomit would have tasted better.

Thread did inspire me to see if there was any large-scale supermarket own brand database out there, and there is: http://www.supermarketownbrandguide.co.uk Of the 4269 items reviewed, only two score a coveted 1/10: Tesco Value Cornflakes: Not much better than cow cereal - and the bag leaves plastic a smell and taste on the corn flakes. Leave them on the shelf and let someone else throw them away. Buy Tesco's regular corn flakes. Tesco Value Tinned Vegetable Soup: The dog might, but you'll struggle to finish a spoonful. Leave it on the shelf and buy the brand.

Or gardener. Or teacher. Or welder. Or plumber. Oh flip this might get out of hand Not comparable. It makes no difference to the job whether any of these is male or female. But generally, if you are casting a male role, you will be looking for a male actor. If casting a female role, a female actor. It would be convenient if we had separate single words to distinguish between the two. Oh wait ......

Actor when referring to a female. I really can't see the sense in this usage. The other day I was musing over who might play a certain (male) role in an upcoming series, and I looked for a "list of Scottish actors". What came up was an unsorted list of actors AND actresses which was a PITA. Now I'm all for equality and all that, but really this is one area where it's usually horses for courses, innit?
