And he's considerably outlived their original guess. Also, he seemed to imply he can no longer travel even outside of Cambridge - Australia is long gone for him, as apparently is even London. Says his two regrets are not being able to read much any more due to health, and that he's going to miss all the big political upheaval in the next decade or so, spoken as though someone's favourite TV show had been axed on a cliffhanger! Otherwise, clearly getting frailer compared to a year or two ago, and can probably count his life span in months rather than years... but... hell, I think we all said that years ago. In among all that luck he accredits, he's clearly a very successful fighter.

Bonjour! I'm originally from Bradford, Yorkshire but now live in Maidstone, Kent. Used to live in Walmer (about eight miles from Dover) and could see the French coast from my bathroom window. I've seen Véronique Sanson live around six or seven times (and have met her - she wasn't impressed with my French!) so it's not like I've never seen her or not had the chance to, unlike France Gall, but hope all goes well for her.
