A search of the net (with my pathetic skills) gives me nothing on Noel Conway's rumored passing, so I award the trophy for the first ever 5-4-3-2-1 DP to GCreptile, who had confirmed hit Shirley Boone on his list! Damn, I was starting to look forward to the Octogon duel after all this. Congrats to you, sir, it was a well fought and hard earned title, fending off that last minute challenge by eventual second place finisher, Cap'n Chorizo. You do the hobby proud, the both of you.

I... think that's everything mentioned in this thread so far changed?

Because his followers dont think of him as a 'patient'. They call him "the walking god". This man has spent his entire life as a holy man, and knew what he was in for if it came to this. I don't believe that he is being kept alive against his will. It doesn't match our Western attitudes, but that doesn't make it wrong.

It's a new year, and that means a new Joker's Dead Pool... or summat. Joey Russ has retired after hosting this competition for 2 years, leaving me as your new host. Here's what you need to know: In the post below, there is a list of names which were chosen as 'jokers' in the DDP. Choose up to 50 of these names, as well as 5 subs. Each hit is worth 1 point. Nominate five of them as your wildcards. Those people will gain double points. PM your team to the host or post it in this thread. Point-scoring in this pool is highly dependent on bonuses. Those bonuses include: 5 points for party poopers (birthday/Christmas deaths). 3 points for hits who: are Drop 40 picks are unique DDP picks die unnaturally 2 points for hits on the 13th day of a month. 1 extra point for hits at certain spots on your list. Which spots they are, however, are hidden until they are scored. There is also an extensive set of bonuses which are hidden from players. We love a bit of mystery to mix things up As the host is aware of these secret bonuses, he will enter a non-competitive team. DDP obituary requirements. A non-obit equals zero points. Entries are now open. You have until 23:59 GMT on the 28th of January to submit your entries. After this deadline, the competition is underway until the end of 2019. Good luck to all!

Indeed and apologies for my tardiness in confirming the rapidest of wins (otherwise engaged watching Carlisle capitulate to three second half goals so took a whole off t'internet). Confirmation below, pool closed to further competition since the day off hasn't seen anyone claiming a dead Swami and the RHME. The winner will be contacted about prize options, and I'll take a personal angle here and congratulate the chasing pack for deft picking and a decent competition. I don't understand why in situations like this, they don't just let the patient die a peaceful natural death

I was going to say, what with Ginsburg and O'Conner and Stevens, why not just a SCOTUS thread? Covers em all.

Wow! I actually did it! Thanks everyone, especially MPFC for running this fine pool.

Not a musician himself, but would Art Rupe, founder of Specialty Records, count? He turned 100 about a year before Dave, and is a fellow R&R HoFer.

Sorry Sir Creep, I kept looking for a Colin Butts obit, but none arrived. Anyhow, where's Paddington? He has been in a bad mood after Peru's performances at the World Cup! Anyhow, that's full time on this Cup. Undertaker slams the Cup shut for another year And finally here's Soup Dragon to hand over a hard earned trophy: All that's left is to congratulate DDT on his victory. Well done DDT! And well done Sir Creep on coming so close over all. Still, that does it for 2018. Stay tuned for the 2019 edition, if we're all spared!

Well, bad luck to the engineer, thanks for a tough month! An honourable draw sir, and if I get you next year, I'll throw the match. Now I go on to face who I believe was my nemesis in the first round last year. Chorizo rematch *sigh sigh*
