I'd say he was quite well known in the UK and has featured in countless news bulletins down the years, though admittedly not many in the last decade or so. Most of the American media stars/actors & actresses on the list, by contrast, I had never - or only vaguely - heard of until I came on here (excluding Tina Turner, whose Burrow Deep Mountain High is still fondly remembered in these parts).

Not really surprising. The two airlines & countries whose aircraft crash are first to withdraw them. Everyone else looks at the data, 2 new aircraft, both under 6 months old, similar circumstances, other pilots saying they've had similar unexplained nose down attitudes after engaging autopilot (and that's just the stuff us outsiders know aboutI) and quickly follow suit denying access and overfly routes to the type one by one. Airlines who stand to lose money because no airline has spare planes just sitting on the ground also ground them. Boeing says there's nothing wrong with it, so do Southwest and American Airlines, So does the FAA. It's an American plane, American dollars, and those airlines have a lot of them. Eventually even they realise it's politically and commercially dangerous to be an outlier, catastrophically so should another one go down, and reluctantly eventually follow suit. Of course it may be nothing to do with the plane, but call me a cynic, it's not going to be quite the same order of play were it an Airbus.

Because your primary place of residence is exempt from asset assessments for the calculation of eligibility for social security (old age pension) many of the older folk will hang on to their house (which might be worth 1-2 million dollars or more) where they could sell their house and move into smaller and more manageable accommodation and live off the proceeds. This policy would be electoral suicide if either party suggested it. Meanwhile the oldies are sitting on this huge asset, eventually die and leave a very tidy inheritance to the next generation. To make all of this affordable and sustainable either the house has to be considered as an asset for social security or there has to be an inheritance tax. I'm ok...in fact I'm in the gonna inherit a house eventually category but it all seems like a bit of a Ponzi scheme which will be paid for by the next generation.

Before i became a father i had sympathy for the mccanns,after I became a father my mind changed. I'd never leave my kids alone in a hotel / apartment on their own at the age they were. They left 3 kids alone and went drinking. Also if some random pedo sneaked in and took maddie you'd think they'd take all of the kids. If she were stolen the parents my have allegedly allowed it or now know what's happened but allegedly keep quiet so as not to kill the golden goose laying the eggs. In my mind I have solved the case, there is no longer a mystery to me. Others my disagree but I believe podestas done it allegedly with/without the knowledge of parents or parents later found out who done it but decided to continue to rake in the cash.Fact is john and tony podesta loaned clement freuds villa at the time and efits matching them were released. On top of that the leaked emails confirmed they'd be away. The investigator who connected the podestas to mccann was found dead and his death was ruled as unexplained . I get a strange feeling about the mccann case,same as the jill dando case.
