Overheard someone say "you know, Stuart Robson [or maybe Robinson] hasn't got long left" today at a train station. So if anyone wants to check into the health of Northern Irish radio DJ Stuart Robinson, wheelchair rugby competitor Stuart Robinson, the former bishop of Canberra, the speedway rider or the footballer, feel free. Or maybe it's a non-famous person. Or maybe they meant he hasn't got long left as he was retiring from a position or is coming out of prison. Still, could be a key tip.

I searched for the term funer* (the * meaning followed by anything). It makes searching a whole lot easier.

Ok, Sprent Dabwido is points for everyone except Spade. So TQR and Bou share points, with both scoring more than they did in the last Round(s?) and Bou's defensive record shredded. Chorizo scores, but falls further behind to Clorox who gets Joker points. Reptile also scores his joker, so reduces the margin to 12... And Death Impends scores his joker, making Spade/DI a 8 point game, 17-12 9 after a mere 8 days of action. 1. The Quim Reaper vs Boudicca 6-9 2. Spade Cooley vs Death Impends 17-9 3. Reptile vs Banana 6-18 4. Clorox v Chorizo 16-6

Mazie Ford dead at 112 years, 312 days. One of the more surprising deaths, considering she was still volunteering prior to her death. https://www.miamiherald.com/news/local/obituaries/article230132719.html

Ahhh, I'll get stuck into the comments later. Often some witty stuff in the Grauniad BTL. But this is well worth its own thread on here. Don't we have one? I once started a thread on songs featuring death, but I can't remember if there's one for funeral music. If not, we need one.

My joker was Blanco, not Dabwido. I see how the error was made - both were recorded as jokers for me on the masterlist. As for Dabwido himself, one of the recent videos about him showed his final interview spliced with footage of him from his presidential years, so the contrast pretty much told to me he was either near death or an Oscar-worthy method actor.

Barry du Bois looks very healthy in an ad which is on Australian tv at the moment. I think the chance of him dying this year is low-I would have 5%. Here is some information on his condition from the Australian Cancer Council site. Barry Du Bois I had been putting up with persistent neck pain for months when a trip to the beach changed everything. I was enjoying a Christmas surf with my brother and nephew when, after going under a big wave, I heard a sharp crack in my neck. The sound, and pain that followed, made me realise that this injury was more serious than the building-related ache I had thought it was. I didn't know it at the time but that crack was the last of my c1 vertebrae caving in. It took another three months of tests to find out that the cause of the snap was actually cancer. I was diagnosed in 2010 with Plasmacytoma Myeloma, a cancer of the immune system which attacks healthy bone marrow and destroyed the vertebra at the top of my spine. Once the doctors stabilised my neck and I'd had extensive surgery, I started radiotherapy. Being a middle aged, healthy and strong man, I took the highest level of radiotherapy that you can take. This treatment saved my life. I was scheduled to start chemotherapy but at this stage, and we monitor it bi-monthly, I still haven't had to undergo chemotherapy. The disease is still in my body, it's not something that will go away and I'll never be cured of it, but it's something that me, my wife and my team of doctors will continue to manage for the rest of my life.

My mother was hardly there. I have very few fond memories. Plus she has been in a vegetative state for some time due to Alzheimer's. Not for that this affects me less.
