Fortunately for me my Dad planned most of his funeral many years ago and my eldest sister is an arch organiser so I am not having to deal with admin issues. Thanks to everyone for all your kind words and thoughts.

I think my odds rest on whether any of the unique folk deliver. On that subject, why not give a rundown of how they're doing? Ronald Shurer: Two recent treatments failed, a third one seems to be working. Could die, but seems more likely to see 2020 than not. Rachel Zoll: Complete silence since early 2018, unless one of her colleagues feels compelled to give an update I don't think we'll hear anything until her death Helen Legh: Last tweeted at the end of February and hasn't liked anything since March. One of her radio colleagues gave an update on her a month or so ago, wheelchair bound and tired due to various medications Suzanne Whang: Shockingly, the Mexico clinic failed to halt the rapid growth of her cancer. Fear not, though, as she's attempted more kooky healing processes such as holding a "worldwide visualization" where her friends all envisioned her as healthy during the same ten-minute span, and next month going on a shamanic healing journey. Also at one of her fundraisers, she put googly eyes and lipstick on her tumor and sang a parody of I Will Survive to it. Words fail me.

Who has picked Joni Mitchell? She is in frail health nowadays. She was on 2018 list. The real challenge is between Terrence Malick, Christopher Walken and Catherine Deneueve, their mothers had both made it to 100 (And Catherine's mom is still alive at 107).

Honorary Oscars to be handed out to David Lynch (fair enough), Wes Studi (eh, makes sense in a "first Native American to win an Oscar" but you should have given one to Russel Means when he was still alive), Geena Davis (wait what?) and Lina Wertmuller. Honorary Oscars are often a "shit, give them something before they croak" and I think that's what we've got here in Wertmuller's case.

So sorry for your loss. Someday in the future you will be somewhere or be doing something and think: my dad would have liked this or he would have liked to be here. At those times you will know he was with you in spirit. It is quite comforting when that happens. R.I. P.

Sorry to hear about that Biblio. At least he lived a good long life by the sounds of it though.

He is in his final hours/days. I wish it is soon, I can't see him suffering anymore.

Last night my Dad died. He had been poorly for a few weeks. He was 90 but despite being blind for the last five years he was not unhealthy. We celebrated his 90th birthday back in February and then he was still able to participate. Things had not been easy for him considering he was a widower aged 50 with four children aged 19 to 9. He eventually started another relationship but she succumbed to Alzheimer's about 5 years ago.
