I don’t understand why they don’t just give points out already. We know which month she died, if we can’t determine the exact day that’s tough shit. Points can always be added for daily doubles if it ever comes out.

Will Perkins, a prominent local businessman who helped cement Colorado Springs’ reputation as an epicenter for evangelical Christianity, died Saturday at the age of 91. Will Perkins emerged as a controversial figure in the 1990s as chairman of the conservative nonprofit Colorado for Family Values, which crafted Colorado’s Amendment 2. The amendment changed the state constitution, banning laws protecting gays from discrimination based on their sexual orientation, until it was overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court in 1996. A graduate of Colorado College, Will Perkins ran unsuccessfully for mayor of Colorado Springs in 1999, losing to Mary Lou Makepeace. (I can’t make that up). SirC

Hang on ... the Daily Mail says he was "a block away" from the incident in Boston. That's a fair distance. And only that he was "in Paris" when last year's attacks took place. So in fact he's been involved in one terrorist attack. Ah, lying for Jesus, that's ok.

I count myself among those, but Turkic literature and culture is one big hole. His Wikipedia article describes a many-talented man.

Well, I guess my following statement will qualify. I don't care. I don't think Thailand's authorities monitor this forum for content offending to their monarch, but should they do, I don't think they'll start legal procedures against foreigners they cannot reach. I don't intend to visit their, it must be said, attractive country. I don't care about king Bhumibol. I don't love him, I don't hate him, I'm indifferent. I dislike monarchy as a form of government, but that changes little in the way I appreciate ruling monarchs: I care not. As for king Bhumibol's health: may it be as good as can be expected and he live as long as he wishes. I leave you with the thought that critical of the government is not the same as lese majeste.

There's nothing wrong with a forum invasion, it has great comic potential, but some I wouldn't take on.

Or perhaps the converse could be true and if you pick Joey Feek as your joker, you’re not trying hard enough. She won’t be a unique pick (worth six points for jokers) and, at the age of forty, she’ll get you four less points than a joker aged below thirty. She is also unlikely to be killed and that will write off another six points. That’s sixteen points altogether, which could be crucial at the end of the year. Uhm, how obitable is she?

You have to be somewhere, and I happen to be here. I could be there, but then there would be here, and I'd still be here, so there. regards, Hein

I must admit that I feel bad about that. A bit. BTW, I've noticed that it happens quite often that there's a considerable gap between registration and first post. Mine lasted a month and a half. regards, Hein

That's quite simple: I think it's a nice quote. One doesn't have to believe that the Bible is the Word of God to appreciate that book. Yes, I know. If you have a look at this online dictionary you may be surprised to learn that what I posted is not blasphemy. I cheerfully admit it isn't very respectful to RC priests, but then they're priests, not the god they think they're the ground crew of. I appreciate that. I don't claim to be very knowledgable about Christianity in general and Roman Catholicism in particular, but trust me: ignorant I'm not. I just don't believe their teachings, including those about an eventual afterlife. I assure you that what happens after my death is the least of my worries. I wholeheartedly agree. Yet I think we disagree quite a bit about what the truth of the matter is. regards, Hein
