Yes, that’s because if you euthanise someone else they tend to call it murder!!

Huuuge bomb went off with Marieke Vervoort. 36 teams didn't waffle on picking the Belgian, and many of their hopes are now euthanized. One Vervoort picker who hasn't lost hope yet is drol, who picked her low enough to hang on to his lead... 1. drol 10 2. BuffaloPhil 16 3. GraveDanger 18 4. The Quim Reaper 26 5. QTips 28 6. Too many names for a single update. After months and years of anticipation, only two people were still on board with Marieke Vervoort! Oh the abandonment! You are all so fickle! A good weekend for RadGuy, and Book also nails down a letter V hit, good for 5 points with the Duo bonus. Don't look now...last year's champ is on the doorstep. It ain't a QO but Gerneths death is in Bild, the biggest newspaper in Germany, where he lived. So yeah.

An A for Affort, as three teams got a hit with Alicia Alonso, the 98-year old dancer. Increased points for vowel initials, so 5 total. Bibliogryphon finally gets into the game, leaving Yvonne as our last holdout (we are rooting for her!). GUB and Wormy also score. Let's keep this in one post if possible. Congrats to last year's champ RadGuy with a solo hit with his 97-year old letter M entry: Bill Macy! I guess none of us experts saw that coming RadGuy moves into a tie for 5th and well within striking distance of defending his title. Poetic that even in a pool without any suicide bonus, Vervoort is still a pointsapalooza.

Wow! Who would have thought drawing an innocuous card like 7 of clubs could be so beneficial.

I will be OK if you decide to allow replacements Dead Poolng equivalent of VAR.

I think it's fair if msc and theoldlady get to replace their picks since no one was aware of her passing when she was picked and she was in such a high spot on both rosters, their is no strategic advantage to letting them pick a sub after seeing all 4 teams since any hit to the Bracknell replacement would be fatal.

gcreptile has a unique with naughty Marieke (will anyone get this reference?). Gustav Gerneth has not yet obtained a QO so we'll keep a look out. Bonuses: gcreptile hits 7 Clubs so: Pair 7s (with Spades) - 10 Points Pair 7s (with Hearts) - 10 Points Two Pair 7s (with Spades) and 9s - 15 Points Two Pair 7s (with Hearts) and 9s - 15 Points Two Pair 7s (with Spades) and Js - 15 Points Two Pair 7s (with Hearts) and Js 15 Points Three of a Kind (7s) - 20 Points Full House (7s over 9s) - 80 Points Full House (7s over Js) - 80 Points That gives a massive bonus (largest ever I believe) of 260 Additional Points. Accordingly, that means gcreptile takes the lead for the moment. Leaderboard updated.

Fantasticly smooth, lustrous voice that he had. Did loads of tv too - from Hitchhikers to playing Kevin the Teenager's dad in Harry Enfield and Chums. One of those stalwart actors whose name you might not know straight away, but you recognise from years and years of work.

Aye, I recall posting the suggestion that when she'd lost 51% of her body the points should be awarded anyway

So why do people persist in posting about her in a thread about a completely different disease?

Gustav Gerneth has died at 114. 112 year old Chitetsu Watanabe is now the World's Oldest Man.
