There's a A transit of Mercury today when the planet Mercury passes directly between the Sun and the Earth, becoming visible against (and hence obscuring a small portion of) the solar disk. During a transit, Mercury appears as a tiny black dot moving across the disk of the Sun. Mercury will begin to creep onto the sun's disk at 1235hrs GMT and it will take about 5 hour and 28 minutes to make its way across, with the transit ending at 1804hrs GMT. The next transit will be on 13th November 2032.

This is, for remainers or even just people not on the hard right, just a tactical voting exercise. Everyone needs to check who’s most likely to unseat a Tory and potentially end up voting for a party they’d in normal circumstances rather shit into their hands and clap than elect. Myself included this time. But it relies on remainfolk/non-right-wingers thinking to do that check (because Lab and Lib won’t get their shit together and work with each other) and we as a nation are shit at doing that. It’s gonna be close.

Just proves what an absolute farce our electoral system is. (Although many rightly pointing out that unless Farage stands aside in Labour held marginals it's not necessarily that useful). Deadline for candidate nominations is this Thursday by the way in case anyone wants to know how long we've got to wait for any other pacts to be announced.

I think the lovely but sadly increasingly frail looking Duchess of Kent who turns 87 next year should be strongly considered by voters to go on next year's list.

Scientist and renowned proponent of the gaia theory centenarian James Lovelock is definitely a worthy name for consideration for this list.

Emmerdale soap matriarch Annie Sugden AKA centenarian Sheila Mercier should definitely keep her place on this list.
