Ah right, gotcha. I think my mind probably blocks out anything to do with songs as shite as that.

A troll around wiki produces..... The Housemartins - Happy hour (reached #3 uk, Caravan of love was #1). Though I have no other reason to make it that particular song than it was their 2nd highest seller. Norman Cook aka Fatboy Slim lives in Brighton. Paul Heaton was founder member of The Beautiful South and (it says here) a fair few of their songs were founded on alcoholic reminiscences... Dave Hemingway was also in both bands. Stan Cullimore (not Collymore :P) was born Ian Peter Cullimore and is now a journalist in the Bristol area. Hugh Whitaker " sent to prison for six years for assaulting former business associate James Hewitt with an axe and setting fire to his house on three occasions " . Can't say his wiki pic would give you a clue..... Though I don't think they're the guys you are referencing and thus are dead ends but interesting nonetheless. And whilst composing that TQR gets in there. Good, I don't have to think of another.

You're correct on both title and artist but incorrect on the "big hit but not their biggest" not being much of a clue This should have been their biggest hit, so much better than Caravan...

Re the masterlist: I'm the only one with Boutelfilka - what do the rest of you know about his improving health? I'm amazed he made May tbh.

Holy SHIT!! En Passant’s DOUBLE DUKAKIS has taken a wallop. He takes the lead. RIP Olympia, and thank you. A Bunch of Punts, our DDP team, also gets a hit, for 6 lovely points, taking us to joint 354th!

I was watching Steel Magnolias last month then checked her filmography and realised she hadn’t been too active lately. Was going to suggest her on here but then thought “nah you’ll look silly when she lives another 10 years”.

I don't see the point of it. Everyone dies of something. Are people who died of Covid more important than those who have died of cancer or heart failure or strokes, etc? Those who have lost loved ones to Covid can put up headstones or memorial plaques or whatever, just the same as anyone else who wants to commemorate someone.
  12. 1 point
There are too many bloody Memorials these days! Has anyone considered that some of the folk who died of Covid were paedophiles, rapists and murderers? You wouldn’t want to memorialise that now, would you?

Count Binface’s manifesto. Much of it is pretty good. All of it is better than Loony Fox’s £5m effort.

Oh don’t worry, I do, but maybe consider that, much like you think you’re doing right now, I’m engineering this conversation to go a certain way, for my own amusement? Glad you’re back, this has been the funniest fucking conversation I’ve had on DL for a fair while
  19. 1 point
Absolutely hysterical You’ve created an entire narrative, an entire conversation, to satisfy your rhetoric. Very right-wing press. I suggest getting in contact with Mr Murdoch. Maybe he might actually give you a job? Something to do, isn’t it?

Unhinged being senseless, paranoid being neurotic. Darling. Mate. Pal. Geezer. Doctor.

I’m so sorry, you seem to have imagined the bit where I lavished Obama with praise. Or I might have amnesia. One of the two. I know which one I’d vote for. You’ve also imagined my “Oh, I suppose you think...” comment. And the bit where I said your statement was paranoid. I said unhinged, not paranoid. You’ve also imagined the bit where you provided any kind of sources to back up your ramblings. Or, again, maybe I’m just getting all forgetful?

Okay, so assume I’m on board. Could you give us examples of London being bought up by said Sheikh, and how it relates to the previous president of a country thousands of miles away. Credible sources, please; not something akin to fucking QAnon or that type of batshit conspiracy theorist cheese nightmare. Small pointer though, you don’t get to specify what constitutes agreement. But feel free to convince yourself of whatever you choose, for our entertainment

Mate, every word of that is absolutely unhinged. But given that this forum has been a sponge cake with no flavour recently, I’m glad you’re here

The local elections are looming and Comres have ran a poll on the London Mayoral one. Sadiq Khan (LAB): 41% Shaun Bailey (CON): 28% Luisa Porritt (Lib): 8% Sian Berry (GRN): 6% Niko Omilana (IND): 5% Farah London: (IND) : 2% Brian Rose: (IND): 2% Count Binface (CBP): 1% Peter Gammons (UKIP): 1% Laurence Fox (REC): 1% The fact that Count Binface is ahead of Gammons and Laurence Fox pleases me no end
