SCAVENGER HUNT BINGO DEADPOOL RULES Each player picks five selections in each of five categories (for categories see below). There are three ways to win 1. You get at least one hit in each of the five categories 2. You get all five hits in one category 3. You get three unique hits across the whole game. There is no fixed duration you play until there is a winner. In the event of a tie number of uniques will be the next determiner followed by total number of hits across all categories. Obits will not be stringent (more akin to Deathrace requirements). However the Game Controller will be checking that picks meet the category criteria at the start of the game. A unique pick is considered unique in category. For example if two categories were Conservative MPs and Contestants on Strictly Come Dancing/Dancing with the Stars and three players picked Edwina Curry in the first category and the fourth player picked her in the second category. If she eggspired then Player 4 would get a unique bonus. When a winner is declared the selection of the next categories passes to the victor and they get to select the new categories. The winner may opt to pass or play on the organisation of the game. If they pass I will run the game based on their selections or they can take the whole thing. The Categories for the third game are: 1. Any actor (gender neutral term) to appear on screen in any Star Trek franchise (TV or Film) 2. Any player who was part of an MLB World Series Champion team 3. Distinguished Pulitzer Prize Winners (meaning no Staff Winners) 4. Summer Olympics Gold Medal Winners 5. UK Government cabinet ministers Teams must be PM’d to avoid revealing those unique picks. There will be a two week period at the beginning of June after the lists are published for disputes to be settled people whose picks are removed at this point will be allowed replacements but will not be allowed to pick another person's unique pick. Starting Date is 01 June 2021

So here is the update that everyone has seemingly been waiting for. The dubious honour of leading the pack, a mere 4 months into the contest goes to Gcreptile who has used up 8 picks to top the pile. Following closely behind is Quim Reaper, who is still racking up the hits at an impressive(?) rate and has 8 hits for a paltry 466 points. In the minor places are Death Impends and En Passant with 7 hits each. But as I've tried to tell you, it all shadow boxing in these still early days. At the bottom end of the table ImNotHades, Etib8 and Guyfromfuture have all decided to enter the race proper, securing their first hits, while Bibliogryphon gets a first scoring hit. That leaves just three players Ebless, Predictor and Yorkshire Banker still warming up at the starting line. However there is only 1 really big story of this update, and that is that after scoring a complete duck-egg in 2020, Deathray finally got a hit. A real actual hit!! Johnny Briggs went to the big soap in the sky on 28th February, to give Deathers his first hit since Herman Wouk on May 17th 2019. That is a total of 652 days without a hit - a record which will take some beating A Prince Philip hit was the icing on the cake for our former host. So enjoy the scoreboard- who knows when the next one will appear GcReptile (509 points) 8 hits [Alcee Hastings, Anne Buydens, Donna Britt, Jory Post, Josh Evans, Mike Miller, Rodion Rosca, Sarena Li] The Quim Reaper (466 points) 8 hits [Anne Buydens, Carlos Menem, Dai Davies, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Leon Spinks, Prince Philip, Rush Limbaugh, Tom Moore] Death Impends (419 points) 7 hits [Beverly Cleary, Carl J. tbh I feel like the best run opposition campaign might have been Scottish Labour, which is something I can't get my head around...

I've slept on it, and am ready to pass my judgement. The first obvious answer to "what would deathers do?" is that he would hurl a torrent of abuse at you for not clarifying at the start who you meant. I'm not going to do that, but will take a more measured approach. In previous years, this would not have been an issue, as usually Deathray was very meticulous about checking with players who exactly they intended with their picks. However, certain (ahem) circumstances last year meant that he was not able to dedicate as much time as he usually does to sorting out the masterlist, and therefore inaccuracies have arisen. A touch ironically, had he not returned briefly last December to organise this pool again, I was going to tweak the rules a little. On of my proposed tweaks was that if I did not immediately recognise the name of a pick, I was not going to make any effort to contact the player for clarification, but was just going to google the name and assign the first person whose wikipedia page appeared. And the masterlist would be final. In this case, you would have been given Lee Noble the car designer! However, as I said earlier, I think it is fairly obvious that you intended Lee Noble the cancer-stricken boxer, rather than the apparently healthy designer. Therefore I have added him to your list of hits. Have another 79 points and climb a few places on the leaderboard. You will look a right mug though when the car designer drops dead of a heart attack at a New Years Eve party!

Who knows? You see, Gooseberry, Wee Willie Rennie isn't a great debater, or negotiator, or public speaker, or anything you might think a leader needs. Except one thing: whenever there's an actual election campaign, he turns into an off the radar solid door to door political campaigner! Lib Dems wont do much here but they will hold their 4 constituency seats and Rennie might even expand his own majority. So imo the great default leader will continue to default onwards for some time yet!

Then I recommend another of Lukas Moodysson’s films, Tilsammans. No Rammstein in sight, but the coda does make perfect use of ABBA’s SOS.

Haven't heard that in years. I had the album at the time, wish I'd kept it.

@edm88, this is incredibly good research! Thanks so much. I've updated all the entries on both page 11 and IMDb as far down as Laura Mason in your findings. Please ping me the source for the other sister. Can you also send me the link to the obit of Michael Butler's father so I can get that processed too? Cheers!

I was at the Oval for Igglesden's first Test in 1989. We managed to snatch a draw at the end of a 4--0 drubbing. But Gladstone Small, not known for his batting, held the Aussies at bay with a splendid 50 and as Iggy sloped out at number 11, someone in the stand called out "now you do the same!" Not a Kent follower, clearly.

On the plus side, it seems a few call centres are shut - I'm not getting so many idiot telesales calls from people pretending to do a 'survey.' Every cloud and all that ...

True story - my maternal grandfather died walking home from church when a lorry and bus collided and crushed him on the pavement. Not really ironic but he obviously didn’t get his prayers right. My mum was 2 at the time and my Gran was 6 months pregnant.
