Well this thread needs to get to 200 pages somehow, so here's the first part to a very pointless list, though hopefully some will find it interesting and reflective. Part 1: 1952–1982 Tony Brise (1952–1975; 23) Formula One racing driver, died in a plane crash Sid Vicious (1957–1979; 21) Bassist and co-vocalist of Sex Pistols; died of a heroin overdose Olive Morris (1952–1979; 27) Activist in feminist, black nationalist and squatters' rights campaigns; died from lymphoma Jimmy McCulloch (1953–1979; 26) Lead guitarist and bass in Wings and Thunderclap Newman; died from alcohol and morphine poisoning Ian Curtis (1956–1980; 23) Lead singer of Joy Division; committed suicide Johnny Owen (1956–1980; 24) Bantamweight champion boxer; died from injuries sustained in a match Bobby Sands (1954–1981; 27) IRA member and MP (1981); died on a hunger strike Ian McKay VC (1953–1982; 29) British Army soldier, posthumous recipient of the Victoria Cross; died in the Falklands War James Honeyman-Scott (1956–1982; 25) Songwriter and guitarist for The Pretenders; died from cocaine-related heart failure

A fair few ‘examples’ of his cognitive decline are caused by his lifelong stutter. When I was a young’un, I had a bit of a stutter which speech therapy taught me to keep at bay. By and large it works, but there will always still be occasional evidence of it, such as slightly slurred enunciation, long pauses, use of the wrong word/order or mumbling, and this is bound to happen more and more as one gets older. So when it comes to speech, unless he’s said something insane, I’d write it off as that. The doddering around looking lost, however, THAT is one of the legitimate examples of cognitive decline, and something which has only really come to the fore over the past couple of years. Being 80 doesn’t totally explain this away. Realistically, he’ll be around for years to come. But him being physically able to serve a second term as POTUS looks like a major stretch, and the Dems will be fully aware of that and will have to plan accordingly.

Mark Hamill, American film, stage, television actor and voice artist who was cast in "Star Wars" (1977), the remarkable film which started it all, and his life changed after becoming famous worldwide for his role of Luke Skywalker, is 71 today. Hamill is also a voice-over talent with a repertoire of over 200 voices. Jean Sorel, the sensational French film, stage and television actor who was one of the most handsome leading men of the European cinema in the 1960s and 1970s, is 88 today. He worked in the French, Italian and Spanish cinema with such filmmakers as Visconti and Buñuel. With Luchino Visconti in the extraordinary film "Sandra", as the incestuous brother of Claudia Cardinale. The film won the Golden Lion and the Silver Ribbon at the Festival of Venice. Luis Buñuel directed him in the masterpiece "Belle de Jour". Sorel played the paralyzed husband of Catherine Deneuve.

Surely if you were one of the most evil people on the planet you would be celebrated when you got to hell? I’ve never understood the logic in Satan/The Devil punishing evil doers on God’s behalf when presumably the said Devil thinks God is a bit of a Cunt. So if she was the most evil person on the planet and if she is now in hell, I would imagine she has earned herself an upper management position at the very least…

"It's all his fault we are spending $6 billion in tax payer dollars on HIV and AIDS this month". The cognitive decline of this man is absolutely apparent. I can’t believe there are some on this forum who are still flat out denying it. We ought to keep a close watch on him, and if it gets worse then he should be considered for DL in a few years.

Well looks like John Hartman died on December 29, 2021!! Yet, they only thought to inform the public last week. Worrying that a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame can die off radar for so long.

But her fondest memories of summers spent with her family are from Balmoral... I spend most of my days working in the financial district of London... doesn't mean I want to die there.

Twitter is full of unsubstantiated rumours about flights and trains being suddenly cancelled across China and that Xi Jinping has been placed under house arrest following a military coup. All seems to be coming from Indian sources with no journalistic confirmation.

Alcohol enthusiast Billy Carter died on this day 34 years ago, aged 51. The media first picked Billy up when his older brother Jimmy was running for president in 1976. That year, he was running to become the mayor of his small hometown of Plains- he lost the vote 97-71. During Jimmy's presidency, Billy became a spokesperson for the Peanut Lolita liqueur brand, and would later sponsor Billy Beer. The latter was sold for only one year- between 1977 and 1978. Eventually, Billy's drinking would spiral out of control, and it culminated in the time when he pissed in public on an airport runway. Between 1978 and 1979, Billy made three trips to Libya, and registered as a foreign agent of the Libyan government, receiving $220,000 from the Gaddafi regime. This led to a Senate investigation later called "Billygate", and is one of the factors that led to Jimmy losing the 1980 election to Ronald Reagan. Billy was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 1987, and died the following year. His family also had a history of the disease- it killed his father James in 1953, his sister Ruth in 1983, and later, his sister Gloria in 1990.

Aye, longevity for the party and likely some rewards for those who fronted the announcements yesterday. Either way, wouldn't want to be a red wall Tory facing constituents in a surgery anytime soon.

Just because someone believes that it’s anyone right to post any death here doesn’t mean that they have to do it themselves. It’s just more that people don’t deserve ridicule for posting here. Who cares if someone posts here or not? That’s there choice. No need to call them out here. Not everybody is an active contributor on the forum, and I think as long as they don’t post a death in a thread that said death was already mentioned in its perfectly fine to post in any thread that makes sense.
