An absolute 2023 must. Roy Clarke would be another very wise 1930 born pick.

Congratulations @RoverAndOuton a fine victory. Despite the huge number of potential picks in this game, getting unique picks in this game is harder than it looks. I'm normally happy to have 5 or 6 uniques to give me at least a chance of winning that way. To get three unique hits takes a fair bit of doing- well done

Updated after Leslie Phillips' death. I was surprised to discover that Leslie wasn't even the oldest person on this list: Vincent Ball is, and he is still living.

I greatly admire the dedication of players who keep longlists during the year and start working on shortlists in November. I usually start drawing up a shortlist the day before I submit the team. It normally gets up to about 30 names that I have scavenged from a quick hunt through my previous year's team, the previous year's top-10 teams, and a quick perusal of this site. Then I spend about an hour trimming down the team, and a year regretting my decisions! It will probably never be a winning strategy, but it's done ok so far. But major kudos to those of you who work hard at this - you have my utmost respect!. For all you players who are worried about people on your shortlist not getting a QO, can I say that the Hare's Pool 2023 will be opening for business in about 10 days time, and that would be an excellent place to offload your dodgy, slightly obscure, not-sure-of-a-QO picks. We have extremely low standards over there - pretty much anything is acceptable as a QO. There is virtually no possibility that your selection won't score (unless you pick Diane Berberian, @Salmon Mousse). So, if you haven't played the Hare's before, maybe give it a go this year. If you are worried about me nicking a potential pick for the DDP, just PM your team late on New Year's Eve - unlike the previous host, I won't bite.

Watching bbc4 ATM. I remember as a kid watching her show on the tellybox in the 60's/70's. Born 1934, aged 85 now. Might be worth a punt?

In an embarrassing result, the little bigot has lost his seat in parliament, coming fourth out of five candidates! His first election loss in 53 years. He should have retired after his second premiership.

Hilary Duff made a statement regarding it. They used to date when they were teenagers (with him making an appearance on her Disney show Lizzie McGuire). He infamously cheated on her with Lindsay Lohan. A few years back, he openly pined for her as the one who got away. "For Aaron -- I'm deeply sorry that life was so hard for you and that you had to struggle in-front of the whole world. You had a charm that was absolutely effervescent... boy did my teenage self love you deeply. Sending love to your family at this time. Rest easy <3 " https://www.instagram.com/p/CkmZqINJtD1/?utm_source=ig_embed&ig_rid=6eef61ba-fbb8-4637-a5bd-472e1ba8a1a2

Uncredited actors are a nightmare to track down, especially if they had a common name and disappeared after a few credits 60 years ago. Even the experts in the field tend to draw a blank.
