There's no truth in it - yes, there have been a number of changes in the coaching staff, but that is going to happen if you have a club tearing through the leagues. I can only assume this came up because Brooks isn't all that well recently and hasn't been attending as many matches, due to hospital visits, etc... Certainly a 2007 candidate...

    Ideas and possibilities for 2007

Just a few names I've been thinking of. Clarissa Eden, Countess of Avon, now 86. Mary Soames (formerly Churchill), now 84. Yuri Averbakh, 84-year-old Russian chess player. Aage Niels Bohr, 84, Danish joint winner of the 1975 Nobel Prize in Physics Mike Banks, 84-year-old mountaineer and climber. Erkki Aaltonen, 96-year-old Finnish composer. Salleh Abas, 77-year-old former Lord President of the Federal Court of Malaysia.

Status: Single Zodiac Sign: Leo Children: I don't want kids I had to laugh at the last part. And how do we know it is even him? For a start, he was born in December, so he is certainly not a Leo. Looks like the above poster enjoys beating up paedeotricians, as only NoTW readers can...

Talking about that, how many of you have seen the Ken Bigley killing and do you think it was genuine. I have my doubts - one, if you were being cut with a knife, from your throat to the back of your neck, your legs would twitch somewhat, even if people were on you. Also, you'd be panicking, heart beating fast and blood would squirt everywhere. And, when they lift his head in the air, ther eis just not enough blood. Personally, I think he died first - either bullet or natural causes - and then they beheaded him...

The cheering rather than silence does, of course, reflect what most of us do when we hear of a death... So which snooker player will be next?

Hold yer hands up MPFC. That time you went 'further than far too far'. Even I cringed. Watching Carlisle play is far more offensive than any comment about an expired snooker player ever will be... Happy 60th anniversary death to Hermann Goering, too. And keep up the good work, MPFC, it's all good fun...

And added to that, are the sort of people of the list (in general) going to have to worry about financing their winter fuel bills? I've also noticed in the past that while the cold can hospitalise the elderly, they don't normalyl die for a few weeks/months afterwards.

Used to be around 100 a day, but it would be anyone's guess as to how much it is these days...unless you worked at BH emptying ashtrays of course... I must say I am happy that he is not having to roll his own. I don't know why, but I imagined Dicky O going around Brinsworth House, breaking up all the fag butts and sticking them in a Rizzla...

I still rate him dressing up as an Admiral of the Fleet and turning the Sun newsroom into a war-room during the Falklands Conflict as being his greatest moment. When will we see his like again?

It's quite worrying. He is huge - porn star huge and then some, I'd guess a good 10-inches and thick, very think. When he was born his father said he was "all nose and hose". But the Dirty Sanchez at the end is plain wrong... Far too much information for me. Even more worrying is that you knew those specific details I could argue the details are important. They make him more likely to put himself in risky sexual situations...

Where Have All The Ranters Gone?

I've noticed that our beloved guests are continually looking at members' profiles, according to the "last click" facility. What do they really expect to find? Hello, here is my name, date of birth, address, phone numbers etc, etc? John Forsythe

From http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/e Dynasty star treated for cancer John Forsythe, the former Dynasty star and voice of Charlie in the Charlie's Angels TV series and films, has been treated for colon cancer. The 88-year-old actor's spokesman Harlan Boll said he was treated at a Los Angeles hospital after being diagnosed with cancer last month. "He seems to be in good spirits. They hope to have him home this weekend," said Mr Boll. Forsythe played Blake Carrington in the popular US soap from 1981-9. He earned three Emmy nominations for his performance, but never won. In an acting career that began in the 1940s, he also appeared in the Alfred Hitchcock films The Trouble With Harry and Topaz.

'Screech' didn't pay, case claims Home sellers say they're still waiting for money from former TV actor By DAN BENSON dbenson@journalsentinel.com Posted: Oct. 12, 2006 Port Washington - If former teen TV star Dustin "Screech" Diamond has made money selling T-shirts and a sex tape to save his home here, a court filing alleges that none of that money has been used to pay the money he owes. And it may be too late, the attorney for the home's owners says. "We will file a motion for judgment next week," Grafton attorney Steven Cain said. "My clients want their house back. Simple as that." In recently filed court records, the home's owners say the 29-year-old Diamond has not made any payments on the home since January despite his highly publicized efforts since then to raise money by selling T-shirts online and through television appearances. More recently, Diamond has made a sex tape, titled "Saved by the Smell," to earn money to save his house, according to press accounts. Diamond, who played geeky Screech Powers in the teen sitcom "Saved by the Bell," faces losing the home under a foreclosure order filed in Ozaukee County Circuit Court by the owners, Lewis M. Herro and Brian S. Behrens, operating as B&L of Grafton. Herro and Behrens say Diamond has not made monthly payments of $2,261.98 since January. They're demanding under terms of a land contract that Diamond pick up the remaining $250,000 he owes on the gray, two-story home. Diamond has said the land contract - in which the buyer agrees to make an initial payment and regular subsequent payments until the full price is paid - was one of the few options available for him in 2003 because of a bad credit record, which includes a 2001 bankruptcy filing in California. To raise money to stave off foreclosure, Diamond created a Web site to sell autographed T-shirts, saying "I paid $15 to save Screech's house." Since then, some people have complained they have paid for, but not received, their shirts. Herro and Behrens say in court documents: "Diamond's stated purpose of the aforementioned Internet site is to bring publicity to the foreclosure action pending against (Diamond) and raise money to pay the outstanding balance on the contract." "During the time Diamond has been publicizing the foreclosure action and Diamond's fundraising sales, B&L has received $0," the civil complaint says. Diamond could not be reached for comment. His attorney did not return a phone call seeking comment.

The phrase a pig in a Pope comes to mind... Actually, this is the best way forward for Northern Ireland - take the Vatican City FC and play them against Church of England FC. I can just see Rowan Williams and George Carey as strikers.

    Gerald Ford

Slightly off-topic, but I can't help but notice that, quite often, those who were less-successful at what they did tend to last longer. Jimmy Carter, Gerald Ford etc were hardly the greatest presidents (okay, Regan is an odd one). Also, take the Beatles - Ringo Starr was, in many people's minds, the worst of the lot - but I reckon he'll be the last one of the "main" four left. UK party leaders could also be thrown into the mix - Foot, Callaghan etc. Two of the least successful party leaders of all time, yet they one is still living and one lived to a ripe old age.

    Tony Hart

Was it Chas? Tony Hart is a genuinely nice and charming chap. He was one of the last in a long line of gentleman presenters for children and it's sad that we will never see his like again. In all honestly, what would you prefer your kids to watch - Tony Hart, with his perfect RP voice, or Dick and Dom, etc. A top chap indeed.
