Salinger was pretty much a recluse. Do any later photographs of him exist? The "Agent Boot" KGB stories should be worth a read when they come out!

Oddly, or not, I seem to recall the reason "Stone Cold" Steve Austin changed his surname from Williams to Austin, for wrestling-purposes, was because of the Steve Williams who has just died.

    Margaret Thatcher

Not necessarily. Harold Wilson won four General Elections, at a push (1964, 1966 and both the 1974 ones). Though the February 1974 one is somewhat arguable. As for the views on Thatcher, I'd argue the split between those who remember her positively and those who remember her negatively isn't as clear cut as it may appear at times!

    Sir Bobby Robson

Sorry if this already has a thread, but I could find it, so... From the Daily Mirror 6 May 2006 BOBBY IN CANCER BATTLE NUMBER 3 By Allison Martin FORMER England manager Sir Bobby Robson is battling cancer for the third time, it emerged last night. The 73-year-old had surgery this week to remove a lung tumour. Doctors spotted the growth when he went for an X-ray after injuring ribs during a skiing accident in France. His spokesman said: "He is convalescing and looking forward to getting back to his commitments." The ex-Newcastle United boss was diagnosed with bowel cancer in 1992. Three years later specialists found he had a rare form of mouth cancer and gave him just 18 months to live. He was told to give up his job but battled on and was back at work within three months. Sir Bobby has been treated at the Freeman hospital in Newcastle - which specialises in lung transplants - for his latest tumour. He is recovering at home in County Durham. He has been working as consultant to the Republic of Ireland team since January. Manager Steve Staunton said: "Knowing him as I do he'll be back fighting fit in no time."

    Is The Deathlist Dying?

I've got a cunning plan to address that, but on a more general note; Paul Hunter's demise taught us that not all Google juice is good. I take the opposite view, Paul Hunter's carkage showed exactly why we need the juice!

    Is The Deathlist Dying?

The Death List regenerates - it has a few more chances to cheat death yet! As an observation, we're not getting as much Google juice as we used to so there is much less new blood happening by.

John Hartson won't make 2010: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/8151728.stm Former Wales, Arsenal and Celtic striker John Hartson is in a critical condition after emergency neurosurgery on his brain. On the weekend 34-year-old Hartson was diagnosed with testicular cancer which had already spread. On Wednesday, doctors confirmed it was also present in his lungs. The father-of-three had undergone surgery at Morriston Hospital in Swansea, after being transferred from the city's Singleton Hospital. A hospital statement read: "He is currently being cared for by the critical care team at Morriston and is receiving round-the-clock care aiming to stabilise his condition. "He will resume radiotherapy and chemotherapy as soon as possible."

We need more of Dicky O. And more of Brinsworth House Baiter - one of the greatest-named posters needs to return. Dicky O seems as good as can be expected, but I don't think he has done anything career-wise since the audio commentary to Carry on Teacher.
