    London 2012 Olympics

The petition to change the logo now has 30,000+ signatures. We should all do the Olympics (and London) a favor and sign it. Petition

    Tammy Faye Messner

Its still amazing how she is alive month after month. I thought for sure she would be gone in May, but here is June already.

    Deathlist On Youtube

He doesn't sound like a member. I love how he says "Ernest...Borg...Borganine...Whoever the hell he is.." He should join us - he sounds like a very interesting fellow, or very annoying, judging by his dramatic voice from the vid.

I didn't not never vote not to not ban him.

    Ronald Reagan

I wonder if our resident teenager watched the Republican debate the other day - I think they broadcasted it on CSPAN. It was at the Reagan library. I listened to some of it later on NPR - every single one of the candidates lionized Reagan. It was endearing. The resident teenager did watch it - it is funny to see liberal republicans like Giuliani try to act like they appreciated Reagan. It's really hard to believe that this thread died for over two years considering all the other nonsense that keeps resurfacing. If I remember correctly it was my insane 'Ronnie Rants' that got me blocked for that extended period of time.

    World War I Veteran(s)

Gladys Powers, 108, is still hanging in there as both the last surviving female vet of the war, and the last surviving Canadian vet. Its amazing how we've already lost 25 veterans this year - I am anticipating 12 or so more.

She's on Larry King in 10 minutes - I finally get to watch for the first time. I usually miss it every time she is on. (30 mins later) I just got done watching - of course she was on by telephone, and there really wasn't much new information. She sounds about the same as she does on the audio interview on the website.

I listened as well. She sounded pretty rough to me - but then I haven't talked to many 60 pound cancer sufferers.

Falwell has fallen, but he did not fall well.

    Tammy Faye Messner

Its amazing that she is still alive, being under 68 pounds for over 6 months. In a previous entry she said that she and her doctor were very concerned when she weighed 97 pounds.

She continues to make headlines: Tammy Faye on NBC's The Today Show

Indeed - it seems that my signature has been altered 20 or so times over the past couple weeks - its become a sort of game I suppose. It's amusing to see what sort of filthy or nonsensical website has been placed in my signature every time I visit the DL.

    Don (w)Ho?

No cause of death yet released - seeing that she was 51 and it was only a week after her dad's funeral, I am assuming suicide on this one.

June 6 is my guess. It certainly looks like she doesn't have long left - I'm surprised she even continued treatment this far. Maybe her skeleton will make one last Larry King appearance?

    The Weatherman Death Pool

Another hit, still on May 7: Yahweh ben Yahweh, the leader of the "Nation of Yahweh", a religious sect, has died aged 71. Yahweh had been suffering from prostate cancer, and even though the news first came yesterday, Yahweh actually died on the same day as the previous hit, Tomasi Kulimoetoke II, King of Uvea, giving the WDP its first "double death" in one day. Yahweh was a unique pick, having been only selected by Football Fan, who scores a total of 8 points and lands in the newly created 4th place. Canadian Paul still leads the scoreboard with 16 points.

    The Weatherman Death Pool

King of Uvea, Tomasi Kulimoetoke II, has died aged 88 after several years of poor health. Kulimoetoke II was the pick of Devon Death Trip's Finely Named Fellows, and that team will receive 6 points for his age, 1 point for being a unique pick, and the one-time bonus of 5 points for the creation of a theme team. Totaling 12 points, Devon Death Trip is in 3rd place.

    Tim Johnson

That's what they told me three years ago . I still can't believe it has been nearly 3 years since I joined. It still seems like yesterday when Ronnie died - I'm pretty sure that's how I stumbled upon the DL.

I on the other hand am not so happy - but he won't be up for re-election until 2008. Hopefully a good republican can get rid of him if he isn't dead already. Although I have to admit after his stay in the hospital he doesn't look too bad - he could have stood to lose a good 50 lbs anyway.

    The Weatherman Death Pool

Motion Picture Association President Jack Valenti has died at the age of 85, becoming the third hit of the year for the WDP. Valenti died after suffering a stroke just one day after leaving the hospital after being treated for a previous stroke. A bad stroke of luck indeed. Two teams selected Valenti - Canadian Paul and OMG. Coincidentally, both said teams have already had a hit in the pool, so the game remains with only two players having scored so far. Both teams will receive 7 points on account of his age. Canadian Paul still retains 1st place, now with a score of 16 points. April has been quite fruitful - 3 hits already.

    The Weatherman Death Pool

Sorry for the delay - the weatherman was out of town. Indeed, Australian rocker Lobby Loyde brings the second hit of the pool in not a moment too late after a lengthy battle with lung cancer. Loyde, who played with Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs among other bands, died at 66, giving lone selector Canadian Paul the first place spot once again with 9 points - 8 for the age and one for the unique selection bonus. OMG still retains second place with 7 points. So it seems Canadian Paul has quickly taken back 1st place - congratulations!

He spoke - but probably through some sort of ventriloquism. My theory that he is a corpse still survives.
  24. I should have explained the whole Barry Manilow thing better. When I came here almost 3 years ago, I was quite vocal about my devotion to Barry Manilow - which most members considered odd since I was a 13 year old male at the time. It's sort of a running joke.

    Tammy Faye Messner

I still think TFM will be gone in the next few months. Her past 2 letters have been brief with few medical details - she usually includes all the great news from her doctors, cancer count, etc.. It's obvious that there hasn't been any good news as of late or she would have divulged that information.
