  1. Here's the skinny on the two candidates on my new WDP that haven't been mentioned yet:

Lobby Loyde, former Rose Tattoo guitarist, has terminal lung cancer. It was reported on heavily when Thorpe died earlier, but most of those articles have disappeared now.

Derryn Hinch, meanwhile, while having surgery to remove a brain tumor, is also having a growth on his liver looked at, which is in addition to his advanced cirrhosis. Most tellingly of all, Hinch claims he'll top himself if the pain becomes too great, hence the reason I asked if the suicide bonus still applied. No news on him since then.

hows Derryn doing then. did he have that Op?

  2. Just watching highlights of the mob outside the British Embassy in Tehran. And what an organised mob - they even drove up a dump truck full of rubble to lob over the fence.

Are any death pools which allow in-season picks getting any of the sailors as candidates?

nah - not going to bother. great timing for me as the April Transfer Window is open right now in the PZ Death Game. not famous though.

  3. so here we are at the end of the first quarter with one out of 50 'hits. This means that at the current rate deathlist is on course for a grand total of 4 deaths by the end of the year.Thats not quite as good as normal is it? :crossbone:

    David Guest.

Congratulations on finding the right thread to post on!

How about registering or at least using a decent name other than Guest.

Nah its not quite as good as normal. Who gives a f**k though.

Deathlist will score more than 4 anyway.

Most deaths will probably be in the latter stages of the year.

    Usually are anyway.

    Hows your health Guest?

  4. I want to know how someone from Penzance ends up supporting Everton; RM are you a (former) glory supporter?

...and OoO, what do you have against the mighty Saints? Okay, we certainly had our nine lives as far as the premiership went. Although quite frankly the survival race is much more exciting that the usual suspects chasing the title, by means of wealth as opposed to passion. Though with the rise of Chelsea I am gutted that Arsechester United is no longer appropriate. Manchelsea United just conjure up the right level of cynicism.

my family is from liverpool, but i was born here - efc since day one. not thats its got anything to do with it. and the only Glory Days that ive seen is The FA Cup in 95 and beating Southampton 7-0 in the Prem.

Fair point. Oh how is James these days?

We have an uncanny knack of selling our overachieving players. Good job there is no returns policy in the transfer market!

    james is, um, ok...

just COUNTING the days until we sign Nugent!

  6. 4 points from Liverpool this season... :crossbone:

that's enough to have every Liverpool fan sobbing into the Eurpean Cup they retained for winning it five times.

In fact looking at Everton's name on that trophy must be a real sickener. Oh no...wait...I don't think it's there. :crossbone:

do what you like in Europe, you still can't score past us! :crossbone:

They won the championship in 1915 and thus remained reigning champions until the 1919-20 season due to the World War I league cancellation. They were also champions in 1939, and again remained reigning champions until the league resumed in 1946-7 after World War II.

if i think of any more, i'll be sure to let you know...

oh yeah, i assume you know who i'm talking about?

  8. Abe Coleman, believed to be the oldest professional wrestler at the time, is dead aged 101. Coleman's nicknames included Hebrew Hercules and Jewish Tarzan. An interesting man I'm sure.

how do i know abe coleman? has he been mentioned on here before? think i had him on some provisional list? hmmm

Well after re-checking my list he WAS on it. Death #8 This Year.

I'll be aiming to get a confused mess of black lines to wobble a bit on a 5 second loop, just so you'll know when I've got my .gif right...

i would say easier than flash.. all depends which programme you're using. and how complicated you want the .gif - my flag is only 4 or 5 frames of the same image with varied transparency on a loop.

Did you notice that my avatar is an animation? It has 8 frames (made with GIMP2.2, which I highly recommend and it's free) but you would have to look very carefully to see the far too subtle effect. It's easy to do - the fact that I can do it proves that!

i'm impressed... never saw that before

  10. OK Firstly, from what i gather, they will release the servicemen & women if Britain admits to going into Iranian water.

    so why don't they?

Secondly. We aren't even at war with Iran are we? Why did Iran even take them hostage? even if they did stray into Iranian waters. Surely a 'you're in the wrong water mate, turn around' would have sufficed?

Is this the Iranian govenment that have done this? I dont quite get it. especially photos like this..

    story_protest_ap.jpg

Can anyone shed some more light on this?

  12. Its a GIF image. I had one in my early days on this site from Family Guy. You can pick up one from any number of image sites. I'm afraid I don't know how to create one however...

    i do ;)

I've just sent a link to a free .gif animation/creation download to my home pc. I expect if I overcome my usual inability to use art packages for more than 5 mins without wanting to destroy my computer I'll have a .gif avatar soon. The clever money's on a busted computer.

Is it easier or harder than Flash animation? I could never make Flash draw anything more complicated than the 'morph one simple 2D shape to another slightly different sized 2D shape', or the occasional button. I don't know why I find art packages so counter-intuitive, other stuff I can find my way around and gradually pick up by trial & error, with art packages it's just a trial & error loop with no noticeable gain.
