Read Any Good Books Lately?
Anubis the Jackal replied to maryportfuncity's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
This week, I re-read American Psycho. I first it read in my early '20's and at the same time as I was into quite full-on shock-fiction (Derek Raymond and the like) so it never really had a great impact. Damn, it's a good book. Also John Pilgers' 'A Secret Country' a damning re-telling of the great Australian pioneer mythology. -
Fascinating Creatures - Squids
Anubis the Jackal replied to Godot's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
On my drive to work, I pass a commercial art gallery, normally full of shonky pretentious tat. However, the last couple of weeks there has been a giant 8 ft bronze sculpture of a squid on prominent display. I will try to break all traffic laws to get a picture at some point. ATJ, willing to do time for deathlist and squid. -

Plane, Train And Automobile Crashes
Anubis the Jackal replied to Lady Die's topic in DeathList Forum
My sister, who as regular visitors may know survived her boat sinking from under her some years ago, was right next to where the plane did its' Neil Young impression. Anyone wishing to avoid this Jonah may wish to know she's flying back from NYC to Heathrow some time tomorrow. -
There will be a Wally Stott obit I should imagine, simply because of the awesome string arrangements on the early Scott Walker LP's. Like this beauty...

Oooh! Painful, but not life-threatening. She probably didn't rest enough first time it happened. Happened to me, a doctor friend told me it was a combination of being tall and slim and ''too much of everything'' -
dead Prince Philip Duke Of Edinburgh

Big difference. I personally don't mind being called a Brit, a Limey, a Pommie or even a Palangi, as these terms are seldom accompanied by dogshit being posted through my letterbox or a mouthful of Combat 18 fist. -

I'm sorry, but the outdated irrelevance, who is funded by the public purse, called someone a 'paki' and someone a 'queer.' Any other publicly funded figure, policeman, MP or whoever, would have been sacked straight off, and quite rightly too. -
Thank you for your kind offer Bruno, however I fear the commute may not be practical. Banshees, I did try playing music for a living, but resigned myself to the ranks of semi-pro several years back.

The company I work for. Any day now.... Anyone want to give me a job? Big Issue? Spare change?

I'm not surprised. Someone who worked in my company before I joined got engaged to that pillar of feminine virtue, Rosemary West, while she was in prison

If he's got Lou Gehrig's disease, whose disease has Lou Gehrig got? -
Not quite, still got the Biggie to go. It really is the death of Thatcherism now, isn't it?

There can be only Dunn. Without shadow of a doubt, Clive Dunn. Hah, he seems fairly healthy to me.. Nontheless he will bring fame and good fortune. He is, after all, immortal. -
