Lower Age Limit For Forum Membership
Deathray replied to Lord Fellatio Nelson's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
These days most boozers are going to have people younger than your kids in them as the under 18 rule got banned years ago. I joined when I was 17, is that too young - I was old enough to legally smoke, have consensual sex, join the army and earn my own wages at the time - only two of which I actually did and one of them not very often. Personally I reckon 16's a fair age limit - anyone over sixteens going to have heard worse than they'll ever find on this site from colleagues, family members, friends etc. The likes of MK and this new kid I have an issue with - there still at school. If it was just a forum then there'd be an argument that tighter moderation would be accommodating of them but there's a chat room as well; do we really want the potential headlines for this site that could happen if those kids are using that chat room unsupervised. -
New Here And Just Saying Hello
Deathray replied to football_fan's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Welcome! Make new friends here? That's asking a lot from this group! Just hang on and you'll be properly tortured and humiliated, In my first days here, I was made welcome when asked if I was an "actual, you know, human being?", had it suggested that I was "possibly the forums (sic) most "robotic poster" or a human with the personality characteristics of a well used blow up doll" and then referenced with great sarcasm in a comment about the forum "certainly attracting some high quality posters nowdays". I stuck around and found my way, hope you will also! the most robotic user with no personality has got to be Devon. There are some really sound people here who are, for want of a better term' having another hole ripped into their arses for absolutely no good reason whatsoever. Its not on. To be fair a mod who literally vanishes after having a mild argument with a forumer is opening themselves up to a bit of gentle ribbing. -
Yay, it's absolutely bucketing it down with snow.

New Here And Just Saying Hello
Deathray replied to football_fan's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
I guess him and MK can play in the corner then. I really think there should be an age limit on the site - some of the content isn't suitable for kids. Yes and apparently I'm the target judging by what happened in the early hours of this morning when I was summarily and swiftly removed from the chat room as soon as I entered because there was a teenager in there. Jesus... -
Again, Paul, in light of his insane rants in this thread, I ask - am I allowed Zorders is a cunt as my tagline yet?

What'd ye de while yer were up this end?
-
Think it might've actually been Maroon 5's she's said goodybe so many times before song.
-
I Want To Know What Love Is, by Foreigner? Nope. It's more whiny noughties style soft rock - I've got a feeling the before is elongated in that typical stuttering style and possibly repeated if that helps. Thanks anyway. I tried googling the lyrics but all got was Sade and Sia and it's not those.
-
Can anyone help me, I'm trying to place a song. The only part I can remember is the "I've been [here]* so many times before". If I remember correctly it's soft rock of sort of song. *could literally be any word

Hang on a minute, you can't just waltz in here, get your answers and fuck off again - I need to know why you needed to know who those three no-marks were? Or more importantly why they couldn't just google image search them.

I find that asking people what they would like works very well. There's only so many times you can ask someone want for Christmas before you seem like an irritating git. Thankfully I only have a handful of people to buy for this Christmas and they've all said what they want so the usual "will she think I think she's an alcoholic if I buy her a bottle of vod or will she think I think she's fat if I buy her a box of choccy?" isn't an issue. You only need to ask them once a year. No one I know would give a shit what I thought about them, nor would I care. But I don't have any secret drinkers on my present list, they're all out and proud I think you're overthinking it, especially with the chocolate thing. Other tactics are encouraging people to keep a wish list; something I do myself so that if asked what I want for my birthday, I can present some alternatives. And keep your ears pricked throughout the year for any clues, eg people saying things like "I could really do with ... " or "I'd love one of those ..." All that said it's still an expense I could xo without. I'm setting up a Christmas fund for next year in January. On the choccy thing - if you get s little box someone might think they're one of your "Ibdon't care about them but i need to get 'em something" list - if you buy someone a massive box they might think you think there a fatso. It doesn't help that I'm extremely anxious and tend to think negatively.

Not getting beaten 2-0 by a team in the relegation zone would be a good start! TMIB - Is sending teams by PM still okay?

Christmas. It's expensive, it involves spending way more time with family members than anybody really wants to, everybody is ramming forced cheeriness down your throats, you've got to try and determine what to get people for christmas without offending them, decorations start going up everywhere. This year it's even worse as the weather's ridiculously mild.

Aye, too right. We draw the line at accepting local graffiti as a qualifying obit We want a carnival of carnage and a rapid fire result. Although you're English language requirement is rather unnecessarily stringent.

They weren't really edits, just moved to this thread from the stairway to heaven one I think Hein meant her edits to the posts saying they had been moved in here from Stairway to Heaven. Personally I think everything in this thread should be returned to wherever it came from.

France, again. New Year's eve. Around 250 on a train shooting. I often say I have problems with God, it some of his fan club that scares me.My neighbours are devout Lutherans. Just a couple of years ago when we had the vote to allow same-sex marriage, they were outspoken in their opposition to it. Even to the point of putting up a sign stating "1 man + 1 woman = 1 marriage". Even though I get on well with them, I can't help secretly hoping one of their kids comes out declaring they're gay. Yeah, people who openly oppose gay marriage annoy me. It doesn't affect your life at all, why do you care what other people do? Well their argument tends to be that people should only get married for the purposes of procreation. In which case post menopausal women and infertile couples should be outlawed from getting married. One of the dates comments I saw around that time was if they permit gay people to marry, they because they can't procreate that they would die out. Then they'll quote Leviticus 18:22 then if you question which other rules in the book of Leviticus they believe, they'll say "oh Peter said you can ignore the old scriptures" If it was such a huge deal, surely that would have featured highly on the 10 commandments. Except in a gazillion years, no-one ever suggested that should be the case, until it was cooked up for the purposes of that incredibly irksome sideshow of a fucking argument Seriously that chestnut could not be more annoying if it had "Part of the Discworld series" emblazoned on it. Let me guess you're a homophobic shit as well as racist one.

It doesn't and neither does Dr Z's mother. It doesn't need to though that's kind of the point of this thread.

Rolling "dr Zorders Makes An Edgy Post" Thread
Deathray replied to Spade_Cooley's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
No need - I think the psychopath thread was adequate. -
Well they have been. On and off for the past few months... I really think you should reconsider that anonymity rule. We're all going to find out who they are when the candidate carks it anyway?
