well like I said another site must have crashed and linked here instead like a while back when we were constantly linked to a hardware store whenever someone wanted to go to the forums. Since most of them were hanging around the celebrity auction thread they probably came from a site which deals with celebrity auction. I think there's a bloke somewhere who has access to the inbound traffic links for DL forums (or clickthrough stats). I was just trying to get that blokes attention as he'd be able to tell us where the boat load of migrants came from. Chile Cheers. Any indication as to their celeb auctioneer intrrrst?

When you say it disappears do you mean just the icon disappears? For the internal cd drive the icon dissapears from "This PC" and the cd drive becomes unusable (can't import or play cds) but then I'll try a regedit or run a free program I found on line to repair it and it'll return for ten minutes or an hour. The external drive works on someone elses computer (which is Windows 7) but can't be recognised at all on mine.

Any computer buffs be able to help me here. Just had my hard drive replaced and everything seems to be working fine except for my cd drive constantly dissapearing. I've checked the CD drivers and their up to date. I've tried updating the regedit manually and through cmd promot. Even went to the troubke if buying an external cd drive thinking the laptop one was broke but it doesn't recognise that one at all. Is there any solution to this (Windows 8.1)?
