    Aretha Franklin

And now she's cancelling appearances due to "exhaustion". With her constantly cancelling performances, it's almost reminiscent of the last couple of years before Etta James passed away. Yeah it's like neither of you two bothered to read the linked article. 'Constantly cancelling performances'....where did that bogus tidbit come from? She's already matched last year's number of performances (9) and it's August. She's a hefty old lady who just rode 2500 miles in a bus. Yes this is totally unexpected and out of left field she must be dying. Also -- keep in mind she probably has a bit of mental anguish pent up over Bobby Kristina Brown, being her niece's daughter. What a pair of tools. SC Aug 30th 2015 - cancelled citing "other commitments" http://www.wave3.com/story/29564475/aretha-franklin-cancels-kentucky-state-fair-concert May 20th and 26th 2013 - cleared tour schedule for "medical treatment" http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/aretha-franklin-cancels-michigan-concert-for-medical-treatment-20130713 April 2010 - canceled show 10 hours prior to performing http://www.nola.com/jazzfest/index.ssf/2010/04/aretha_franklin_has_canceled_h.html Oh Dear 4 shows in 5 years. She must be dying.

Well if he is lucky enough to see New Year in, he'll be a definite for next year's list. He's got to survive the treatment first.

At What Age Should One Retire?

It doesn't matter what we think, if you're as young as you claim you'll still be working in 50 years, and paying out to live in a shitty hovel in an overcrowded city that stinks of pollution. Cos your mum and dad and their parents pissed your future away. The dead pooling will still be as good in the future though, enjoy! Bit unfair to blame them... the wars and that. Anyway - your life is what you make it and your responsible for what happens in it most of the time, so blaming people who aren't around to defend themselves for something they did several decades ago isn't really on. Not even to alleviate youth unemployment. Say 80% of over 80s were in employment whilst 20% of under 21s were in employment, would it not make sense to start telling the 80 year olds to retire. Or if you're Deathray, spend it on airfix models of The Crucible Theatre. (sorry deathers I'm just kiddin) That would lie half-done on the shelf for eternity because airfix models are insanely diffucult.

At What Age Should One Retire?

I quite like the idea of being granted retirement after 40 years employment but how would this be measured. 40 years FTE or 40 years mixed between part time and full time?

    Bhumibol Adulyadej

Wow, I didn't know it was that much. Honestly, it looks like someone wants him to stay ill so that this person can claim more power for him/herself, maybe a general, maybe even the Crown Prince? Surely the crown prince would gain more power by offing him?

Alright if you can afford the 3 months off... I suppose for some people, retirement is worse than working.

As an addition to this: personality tests. Seriously wtf do I need pysch evaluated before employment for? Looking at my colleagues I wonder on the effectiveness of such tests. There an utter joke. One of KFCs is "it's sometimes okay to take a little food if the employee is underpaid." Who the fuck is ticking strongly agree to that? You'll be surprised. I worked in a hotel back in the late 80s/early 90s as both a waiter and a chef. I'd often see waiters and waitress grab a mouthful off a plate just before they hand the plate to the porter to be cleaned. Glad I didn't end up there then. These scum probably serve customers after eating it as well without washing their hands..

    Shaun`s Death By Numbers

For next years reference what number would you prefer?I'd strongly suggest you use 20, 25 or 30. Say you get 15 teams you are looking at the difference between tracking 300 names or 750 names.

    The Hare's Death Pool

Corrected. As always if any low hanging fruit with local obits as yet unseen or just someone I've missed has died let me know. Could the person who picked fashion designer Pierre Cardin please kick themselves, if you'd picked pastor Jean Pierre "Peter" Cardin, you'd have been - and very nearly were until I caught my mistake - awarded a decent haul from a may death through his obit in the Caledonian Herald.

    Derby Dead Pool 2015

The Man in Black is run ragged, year in year out, having to sort out the current three teams per entrant at the moment. I'm more of a mindset that if people want to submit even more diverse teams they should set up their own web site or start and manage a thread based pool like the HPDP. I'll tell you, it's quite a task to follow even 22 players each with a single ten name list. If you have a great idea, let's hear it tested out for a year within the DeathList forum to see if it has legs. I can fully appreciate this (as another person who struggles to keep on top of their own deadpool - how are you, mpfc and tmib that efficient? - which is a tiny fraction of the size of the DDP - which reminds me I'm due and update ) and I'm certainly not suggesting that tmib be forced to deal with the extra workload caused by this one his own. Personally I'd suggest restristicting the Derby Dead Pool to the up to 2 normal teams and then setting up a separate competition - run and managed by another person with pedigree for managing competitions of this sort efficiently - for theme teams with the rules that person suggest. It's seems to me this could be a way of removing some of the strain from the main competition and provided the theme team crew with the ability to carry on not impeding the original ddp. If scoring was kept the same for both it could be directly compared. Obviously this is pure fantasy as it requires a proverbial mother theresa/jesus to come up and run the second theme team. I only suggested the increase because it pissed me off that I might have to drop my centenarians team to make way for my new theme team next year but at the end of the day, the fact this competition exists is something we should be grateful for in the first place. In terms of TMIB being run ragged year in out, would a good idea not be to create a more collaborative approach to processing the teams - sites like wordpress allow you to have more than one contributor - on the provision that we enter our own teams before assisting - could a few more of us forumers not bandy together to help in adding them in to the site if it was hosted on one of these platforms - the same could be done for bios. I'm not currently involved in the administrative side of the DDP (although I'm happy to be in the future years if manpower is the issue - I'd hate to see this great game go for a burton.) I also think the DDP should seriously look at the option of optional donations for the cost of running the site - whilst you can't legally and ethically (imo) charge an entry fee for the competition or set up as a for-profit system and I get the feeling there is no inclination to do so at the top anyway - I find the fact that tmib is forced to shoulder the burden of the running costs unfair given everyone involved benefits from it - all you'd need is a donation button on the site linked to a paypal account which you could pay the site fees out. As long as the money goes into the site I don't see any moral issues that could be raised, it also means that should tmib become unable to keep the game in funds (for whatever reason - it's hapenned to everyone at some point in there life) it's safe for beyond that and if it never comes to that he's got a bit of additional beer money.

    Derby Dead Pool 2015

Anyone else think it would be a good idea to increase the teams per person limit to 5 for next year? You'd still have a bit of a buffer on the same guy entering 2000 teams and making the game unsustainable but it'd give players a chance to enter a wider range of theme teams?

I guess you could also say the same about this tried for Nazi war crimes. Those accused are either dead or as close to death that would it be worth putting them on trial? But yes there is a lot of point to these allegations as it can potentially expose many more that were involved during that time and may still be involved in child prostitution. 216 of the 264 names involved in operation midland are dead.
