well my grand dad died within a year or so of getting it as best I can remember.Mind you he did die of a heart attack in the end Alzheimer's is a slow disease. My gran had it for over 30 years. Towards the end she barely recognised me, she believed that my nephew was me, I was my dad, and she could barely recognise my dad although she knew his voice. Well to be fair to her in her condition... 30 years later you tend to look more like you dad than you used to By the way, can we ditch these tired Peter Falk jokes now? I mean he was diagnosed over a month ago..... Wow so we might still be making the jokes in 2025!

Last year there were 10 'hits' and 12 'misses' totalling 22 which I believe may be an all time record. This year will probably amount to less than 22 but t he proportion of hits to misses will prob be bigger.the fact that there hasn't been a hit by now is no indication as to how the year will go. There have been years with an early hit that ended up rubbish and years where it took till march for the first hit that ended up with a really good total. It's too early to start panicking ! I know it's me being thick but what exactly constitutes a miss?

Oh do fuck off. I'd keep an eye on Peter Falk if I was you.

More Up TW3 and Up Pompeii than Carry On I would conjecture. You could also have had more fun with the Paul McCartney link.. loses his voice forever for example.

Always thought Lehrer would be a good DL pick tbh. Me too, but I'm too superstitious to suggest it. That was me. It would only be fair for him to survive Henry Kissinger and his quote on the death of satire be resurrected.

He's 93 which is not an indication of pending doom as having a quick scan of this site would tell you . He finished writing right wing drivel for the Sunday Express a month or so back so we should be thankful for that. Death though may be a way off for a comfortably rich smug bastard with nothing to do but watch re-runs of Thatcher conference speeches

What about one of the Pythons? They all looked a bit rough round the edges at the O2 gig. And think of the endless supply of parrot gags.

Then get rid of them! Schimples... I was always under the impression that removing them from an adult, as opposed to a child, was more problematical, painful and dangerous? Any Doctors here? Probably not as dangerous as the cancer!

Wow, what were you drinking last night?

You forgot quincy which seems unfotunately apt.

Did he die sat on the loo? That would have been taking work too seriously!

Only in the album charts If he flies in a private plane his odds of surviving will diminish substantially.

As mentioned above Linda Bellingham. She wants one more xmas. If she also fancies another new year party she could be a cert. http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/brave-lynda-bellingham-tells-well-wishers-4344927

The only good reason for believing in heaven is the thought that Ian Paisley would be sharing eternity with all the dead Popes!

If he'd read his Camus he could have died happy!

Odd. I just yesterday noticed they started showing "Never the Twain" on ITV3( or 4 or whatever). Must be the first time they've aired that in ages. I guess you could say now with this news it's....... Never The Twain Again? (Maybe I should just leave the puns to those who actually got to watch that tripe..) If Windsor Davies goes you've got a conspiracy. And more reruns unfortunately. -

Definitely, not to be then. Come on people where are the 'humerous' straplines?

Surely there's a 'french tarts who cosy up to Japanese fascists' and a 'TV vets who are only watched by very sad bastards' thread, that these posts should be moved to? I demand action.
