George Burley showed up on BBC1 just there. For an alcoholic Scot in his late 60s, he looked and sounded better than I thought he would tbh.

To be honest he doesn’t look much different to how he looked when he was Ipswich manager 20 odd years ago, John Wark looked far worse to me, looks older than 67.

  2. Sad news, Terry was arguably England’s greatest international manager since Sir Alf way back in 1966, if we had got to the final back in 1996 I’m sure we would have won it but as usual with England we were so near but so far away, he probably left too early as well but it was decided so far in advance he was leaving that it was never likely he would stay past Euro 96. Terry certainly got around in his playing and managerial career even if he didn’t win as much as he should of done he certainly fitted a lot into his life with his business interests too, a life well lived a true character and a one off. RIP Terry.

  3. Sad news about Matthew Perry a talented actor but not totally unexpected he lived a troubled life, he was never going to make old bones that’s for sure and he has looked ill for some time due to his past Drugs and Alcohol intake.A massive death as Friends really was a phenomenon and Matthew Perry as Chandler played a massive part in that success. I hope he can find peace in the next world as he so often struggled to find it in this world. RIP.

No-one ever mentions his managerial career...

But seriously, one of the greats, from a different age, when football was more about enjoyment rather than big business.

Agreed when football was proper and real when players didn’t roll around like they had been shot after little or no contact, when there were no billionaires bankrolling bankrupt clubs and players played in all conditions wind, rain, snow or ice on proper football pitches not the carpets like conditions they do today with football ‘s like bricks. I love football today but it was certainly a harder game and trade in Sir Bobby’s day and Sir Bobby was one of the greatest which highlights just how good he really was.

  5. Sad news as a United fan was the day you knew was coming but hoped would never come. A true great, A Munich air crash survivor, A World Cup Winner, A European Cup Winner(scoring 2 goals in the final), 3 League titles, Fa Cup Winner, European and English footballer of the year, 106 England Caps with 49 Goals (England’s 3rd highest scorer) to go alongside his 758 Man United appearance( 2nd all time appearance holder) and 249 goals ( 2nd highest goal scorer) as well as only collecting 2 yellow cards in his career to go alongside his knighthood we will never see his like again a true Legend, RIP Sir Bobby Charlton.

  6. Apparently Sir Alex had been married to his wife for 57 years, wouldn't surprise me if 'Fergie Time' will finally be up for Sir Alex within the next 2 years. Sir Alex really is starting to look old and frail now, saw a clip of him on Beckham documentary on Netflix and he has aged quite a lot recently also with his Stroke a few years back it really could be the beginning of the end for him, as a United fan i hope not, i would like to see us being successful again before he goes like Sir Matt Busby did before he died but with how shite United are nowadays he would probably have to live for another 10 or 20 years before that happens.

I believe that as of today he has over taken Betty Driver as Corries oldest ever regular cast member on Corrie, and he's obviously in much better health than she was as she'd had a 6 month break due to her health issues from which she never returned.

I think he still has a bit to go Doris Speed as Annie Walker lived until she was 95 almost 96, so still another 4 and bit years to go. I do think Bill Roache will surpass her though but at that age 4 and a half years is a long time no matter how healthy you are, he isn’t appearing much now and is starting to look frailer but still in fantastic shape for 91.

Most Coronation Street’s older cast seem to go on forever, I think most likely to go are Sue Nicholls who isn’t looking great at all, Julie Goodyear with her Dementia or Barbara Knox who is 90 at end of month and looking frailer though she’s just signed a new 1 year deal so probably not that bad but get the impression that like Roache she will be there until she drops.

Manchester United would have Klopp as manager in a heartbeat.

Not saying he isn’t a great manager he is, just don’t like the bloke he certainly has an attitude problem, way he talks to journalists and even his own fans is terrible he is so nasty and rude and he loves to play the victim.

Which is ironic because he's a pain in the arse.

Would still take Pep over Klopp any day of the week, both are pains in the arses but Klopp is worse to me he is the nastier and bitter individual of the two. Most managers are arrogant twats I think there is only Eddie Howe who I would consider to be a good bloke, he seems a genuinely nice guy.

Frédéric Von Anhalt suffered the amputation of a finger on his right hand after having a car accident a few months ago:

The Prinz has got to be the most accident prone man alive I use to look up what he was up to every once in awhile as it’s always good for a laugh and every time he was involved in a new accident, amazingly he always saw the reporters before medical treatment as if it was staged nice to know something’s never change.

  11. He really was the greatest talk show host, his interviews with the likes of Billy Connolly, Muhammad Ali and George Best to name but a few were legendary and must watch TV. A true great, although sadly not surprising he has looked awful for some time. RIP Parky.
