Logically... Why would that info go to Russia before the BBC, much less the internet? Makes no sense. This royal announcement that Twitter is all up about could be on literally anything.

Or even a complete non event as no announcement exists or is planned?

  2. I was reading some discussions of this years Oscars ceremony elsewhere on the Internet and a few people pointed out that Warren Beatty was not with his Oscar nominated wife Annette Benning at the ceremony.  Might be something.  Might be nothing but definitely worth mentioning.

I would argue they don't. Windsor wasn't a household name, hadn't been on Strictly for a decade and if you didn't watch the show the only possible other reason you could've come across him was as the ex-boyfriend of X Factor loser Marcus Collins.

Andreas Brehme was a big but not a huge player, even if he was on a winning World Cup squad. The same can be said of 1/2 of the England squad that won in 1966 before anyone accuses me of having an Anglophile bias.

Well tn my own defence and to add further to my point I did say significant notable deaths . I did not go as far as to say big name death. Whilst he definitely isn't a huge name in the sense of a Jimmy Carter,  Pope Francis,  Shirley Bassey or Robert Redford , he definitely isn't as small a name as some of those mentioned on here when people were making the argument that we are in a dry spell.

I think the amount of media coverage his death has had reinforces my argument.

Strictly is one of the UKs most watched TV shows. Its level of viewership is one of  the unusual exceptions to the  rule in the fragmented, diverse  multi channel digital TV era.Anyone who works or worked  in a front of shop role as a presenter or professional dancer  in one of the UKs most popular TV shows  is a significant death in popular culture regardless of name recognition.

Nowadays lots of people don't watch TV soaps and those that do many don't know the names of the shows actors just the characters  but their deaths would definitely be regarded as significant and notable. Strictly has more viewers  than any of the TV soaps.

    Just my thoughts.

  4. There is no cure for baseless conspiracy theories  combined  with stupid.

Apparently the announcement of Charles Cancer is part of a plot to push experimental cancer treatments on the world as part of the new world order!! Lots of stuff like this online.

Please don't post pics in the thread - I know you're trying to help and I don't mean to sound ungrateful, but it just confuses things. If it gets to the point that we are missing someone and you can help, that'd be great but until then, there's probably someone already working on the pictures you're posting.

if you'd like to help in a general pic search, (i.e finding and prepping all the pics of a particular letter), DM me and I can set you to work.

    thanks.

I'd be willing to do my bit and help as long as it's not too technical.  If it just involves sending all the photos for a particular letter to you  in a private message on here or email that's great. If it involves uploading to a database  I'm likely to f*** it up. If you now think I can help please  dm me.

Was just doing this one, picked the same picture.

Good choice.  Brother of actress Margi Clarke  and a bit more reserved and level headed than his elder sister shall we say!!? My lips are sealed!

    Photos, photos, photos!!

If you'd like to help out with adding photos for the DDP let me know here or via message and we'll make a start (I know there are a number who have already volunteered but I didn't know it was my job at the time so I ignored them, so please remind me).

Once you've declared an interest I'll get in touch with the usual guide to photo submission and we can get going. There were seven editors last year - it would be nice if we had even more this year!

    Thanks in anticipation!

I will post pictures for some of my new unique picks in order to lighten your load a little.  Hope it helps.
