  1. Seems I've come across a gap in our DL pages where we have forgotten our brothers and sisters of the world of flora and fauna. Certainly the odd story about some 1000-yr old tree getting knicked, or Mrs. Moistbridge's prize rose garden being destroyed, etc etc. And with that... Children at Napier Central School (Hawke's Bay, NZ) are asking "who would do such a thing?" after six trees on the grounds were intentionally poisoned. Holes were drilled into the bases of at least six trees including native pohutukawa and puriri - but the deliberate damage was discovered only when....[o]ne parent saw half-inch holes around the base. The trees have stood along the school's fence line for about 60 years. SC

  3. Not sure why The Mindbenders are receiving hate mail. Eric Stewart (lead singer) was a fine looking chap (ie hot as fuck, so I’m told), so that should garner some votes. And he and the bass player formed 10cc, so 10cc fans (which should include everyone on DL) should support them too. That said, they should have finished no higher than say 10th. Still, 20th seems an unnecessary dissing, considering the Move, Traffic, Monkees and Manfred Mann songs are all pretty bad, and both Hollies tunes are forgettable (and I like The Hollies, karaoke go to!). I could live with 15th overall for Eric Stewart/Mindbenders. Stewart is 76 and alive and well, nice secret DDP name if anyone still plays that.
  4. Does Sir Creep get an assist AND a kill?! Woo hoo!!!
  5. Don’t hate the player - hate the game. It’s tomorrow here. I stayed awake in order to put this to rest. Tennis players

Once again, we all know what was meant by tennis. NO. This thread shouldn’t be expanded to include people no one has ever heard of. We all know tennis stars. No one here can make a single person who has ever struck a ping ping ball to save their life. If they’re any good they were Olympiads and we’ve a thread for that.

    The Boys Of '66

How fucking lame then. That wasn’t the intent. Hell, referees and ball boys and groundskeepers. Vendors? Widows of 1966? Shit there’s a DDP theme team!!!

This thread is pretty dumb if for no other reason than not one of you have ever heard of a single person you’re posting herein. These nobodies were perfectly fine in the Foreign Whatever thread, which was all-encompassing.

I love the way everyone outside of America uses America as the litmus test. Keep striving.

    Ask A Deathlister

This would have been a great post in the Coppers thread! So knowing nothing of this, after reading your link is the scandal that 700 postmasters somehow conspired to cheat the system (as if), or that they were wrongly sentenced etc?
  15. Why is Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields listed as a single anyway? They don’t blend like We Will Rock You/Champions. Were/are they somehow played as a single unit in the UK?

Wasn’t going to win but it’s one of the top 12 songs on this list, make no mistake. As the list sits now, anything under 24 points can go, and most songs 24 and above are really good. Gonna be tough cut downs in 4-5 days. In the States, We Five released the song and this is the version I grew up with. It went to #3 on Billboard. The full ensemble of vocals really makes the song, and imho eclipses the versions of CSP or Ian & Sylvia. Regardless, it’s a great tune.
  17. I like the idea of the dickhead reaction but I would then ask the Admins to lift the daily limits so that I can toss dickheads all over the place.
  18. Is there an echo in here? I said what I said re: Beatles a few days back. I’m sticking to it.

    Seen Any Good Films Lately?

Went to the cinema with my daughter. The movie isn’t relevant (Trolls 3). The SEATS, however, are. They must have remodeled and there are only about 40% of the seats as before, but that’s bc everyone gets a leather recliner ffs! It was fantastic! Is this a thing now? I was wondering why there was a seating chart online, but this explains it.

So .. What Do You Watch On TV?

I like to give a middle finger (or a two finger salute if you prefer) to Freevee TV. I began watching one of your ancient UK exports; to wit, Mind Your Language. I rather enjoyed it. There were 3 seasons and I was on my last (14th?) episode season 1, and the day before Christmas I sit down to watch, seeing as I had time, and it was gone! They pulled it. Twats.
