Kill or Save: UK No.2 Hits of the 60s

Meh, The Yardbirds were a collective of great musicians, not sure they were much of a singles band. That song was an acceptable keeper given the (weak imho) competition. -
I just caught up with your post, and I’m sure he was glad to meet Jesus on the day we celebrate him. Most of us don’t meet our great grandparents, so I’m sure you’ll treasure the memories.

Very sorry to hear about grandma, @Gisooo.

It’s true she is completely unknown on this side of The Pond, abd yes I DO hold that against any artist from either side (if you canna break through how good are you really?) However, that is not why I gave her -6. It’s not her song. She’s singing karaoke, basically. Anyone can do that. I do not understand the fascination with reboots emerging on the U.K. charts (yes I’ve posted this comment at least twice - sorry but it amazes me), but there are only three reasons to cover a song: you are updating it with popular trends in instrumentation or style, you are completely remaking the song (turning a pop song into a metal tune for example), or mocking the song bc you thought it was terrible or people loving it was foolish and you’re pointing that out. Cilia is doing none of these; she is singing karaoke. MINUS 6!!!!!!!! Heres an acceptable cover song (reason 2, possibly some of 3 too, you could never tell with The Dickies) Here’s another great cover reason 2 but also lo-fi so a bit of reason 1 in reverse Anyway I hope you see the difference between these and karaoke. -

Drove (!) 1200 miles to visit daughter a few days, driving back starting tonight. This means I’ve had no time for DDP or and DPs this year. Oh well. -

Last week we reported on Daihatsu halting sales and shipments of all of its cars amid a probe into the Toyota subsidiary rigging safety tests of 64 different models, and now the situation has gotten even worse. On Wednesday, CNN reported that Daihatsu has now stopped production at all four of its Japanese factories, with the company admitting that it has forged the results of crash tests for more than 3o years. I can’t read German so the link is useless to almost everyone. If it’s a peptic ulcer it’s about 50% fatal, Barbara Bush being the only notable person to recover from surgery in decades. IOW whoever this ‘legend’ is, he shouldn’t live long enough to make the starting line.

Suicide or overdose, the latter being an unintended but not wholly unexpected consequence.
