“His nickname “Family Man” comes from his role as a bandleader as well as his fathering of 41 children.” Sounds like a real piece of shit human being if you ask good old Sir Creep.

04/02/24 8:46am deciding vote! 37 Barry Ryan — Eloise +4 00 The Kinks — Waterloo Sunset -3 And this completes the most ridiculous result ever in this game. -
That speaks to your culture. Would you do that to your kid? What…Deirdre, Edna, Ida and Gertrude weren’t available? To be fair, Mabel is a huge upgrade from Neneh, which is probably 74th on your popular name list. ”Mabel reached its highest position of #20 in the U.S. in the 1890s, and is at #436 presently. (2018 U.S. SSA RECORDS)” Ive never been more proud to be a Yank.

Jesus…the 13-year olds are here. There are professionals on these boards that draft quality insults directed at Sir Creep, you should go read their work and save yourself the embarrassment of infantile posts.

She was identifying as an airman. ’According to a release, Plummer was a flight recording operator at Moton Field in Tuskegee, Alabama, recording flight training hours for the Tuskegee pilots.’ Meaning she literally was not a Tuskegee Airman. She was a statistician/secretary/Girl Friday. Documented!

I've posted about six Tuskegee Airmen over the past couple years. Wiki says they don't know how many there are remaining, but I think 35-40 is a fair guess. Anyway let the countdown begin. When they become rarer than hen's teeth we will get an accurate count. They should be in their very late 80s by now. One of the original Tuskegee Airmen, Dr. Thurston L. Gaines, Jr., died in California Saturday. He was 94. Gaines, as one of World War II's Tuskegee Airmen, was one of the United State's first black military pilots. He flew a P-51 Mustang in 1945. In April 1945, Gaines was shot down over Germany and captured. He was held in German prisons until he was liberated in June of 1945 by Gen. Patton's division. Gaines received the Congressional Gold Medal from President George W. Bush in 2007. He also received the Purple Heart. Talk about burying the headline: “He was found deceased inside the residence from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.” Too bad this wasn’t posted in the overlooked Suicidal Celebrities thread. -
Tom “Otis” Hellmann, a longtime clubhouse manager for the Chicago Cubs, died Wednesday at age 67 after a recent fall. Hellmann was entering his 51st year in baseball and 42nd in the Cubs organisation, serving as home clubhouse manager for 23 years. SC

This should draw Patti Smith out of hiding.

Rob Tyner’s been dead for two decades, I bet there was only two original members playing that night. ‘They’ may have sucked but you didn’t see the MC5. They’re heralded as one of the greatest live bands of their time, but that time ended 50 years ago ffs.
-
What a shitty day. RIP legend. I’m sitting in Macomb County (MC…5) as we speak.

Should be everyone’s first hit. What’s the record for most teams with a hit because he was so obvious as to be on at least 200 non theme teams.

Groundhog’s Day (02/02/24) 1:52am GSL is one of the 3 best songs remaining (probably 3rd best imo) but it’s time to reduce the options. This one’s going to get interesting. 33 The Beach Boys — God Only Knows 29 The Kinks — All Day And All Of The Night +4 27 Barry Ryan — Eloise 27 The Kinks — Waterloo Sunset -2 00 The Spencer Davis Group — Gimme Some Lovin’ -4 -
