He has recently become the 2nd longest lived pope in history. But he'll have to live to be 93 to get 1st place.

I wonder if the cycle of parents-outliving-children will continue in the British Royal Family. Mary of Teck (1867-1953) outlived her son, King George VI (1896-1952). Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon (1900-2002) outlived her daughter, Princess Margaret (1930-2002). Will Queen Elizabeth outlive Prince Charles (or another one of her children)? P.S. There were cases of parents outliving children in older generations too, but I though I shouldn't list them because that was so long ago it was normal for, like, 50% of the population to die before their 30th birthday. (Not a real statistic, don't get butthurt).

Mary Tyler Moore, Muhammad Ali and Pope Benedict XVI will also be big misses if they die this year.

Maybe not for 2016 (she'll only be turning 76), but Queen Margrethe II of Denmark is a chain smoker. That can't be good for her health.

Was it the full face of the alien in the closing credits? Actually, I just happened to turn it on during a scene where somebody was beheading someone.

Interesting as well the 2 oldest Betty White and Cloris Leachman seem to be the healthiest other then the young whippersnapper in her 60's Georgia Engel. There should be a thread for the Mary Tyler Moore cast. Betty White and Cloris Leachman are both very old. Ed Asner looks frail. Valerie Harper has cancer. Mary herself is pulling a Zsa Zsa. It seems that only Gavin Macleod and Georgia Engel are safe from the Grim Reaper.

Rushed to the hospital for chest pains. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/people/leonard-nimoy-rushed-to-hospital-star-trek-legend-reportedly-suffering-severe-chest-pains-10066465.html I have to admit, when I was very small, Star Trek always freaked me out.

People I Was Surprised To Find Are Still Alive

Angela Lansbury. Also, "Maude" star Bill Macy. But that was 2 months ago, so I luckily got the chance to put him on my personal DL. -
Maybe ol' Stevie'll follow Thatcher's and Mandela's path. Margie died about a year after the premiere of "The Iron Lady". Nelson died about a few months after the premiere of "Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom".

We shouldn't worry, really. Deathlist 2003 had 14 hits, but the first wasn't until March. *Edit* Oops, I just realized that somebody else already mentioned this. Therefore, this comment is useless. Dang it.

I'm figuring in about 8 more posts you will have named the entire list and be able to say 'I told you so' Smfh SC Shh! You'll ruin my secret plan!

Hey, if it wasn't for us, nobody would comment on this thread until this guy dies. But if we're right, that wouldn't be such a long wait.
-
Oh, also. Justin Bieber will die at 27, if he's lucky enough not to go earlier.
-
I have a weird feeling that he'll be the first hit of the year. On the other hand, I always have weird feelings.

Where Will The Next School Massacre Be?
RadGuy replied to maryportfuncity's topic in DeathList Forum
Oops. I was just basing my opinion off of the massacres that you hear about on the news (most of the ones on the list weren't reported, or at least, I didn't see them reported). Oh, and also, Afghanistan has a bad reputation. Huh... I guess the Taliban stick to bombs on buses. Sorry for all the commotion I caused. -
Where Will The Next School Massacre Be?

Okay, maybe not a rarity, but it's not like they're an everyday thing. "Only" a couple of times a year. That's still a LOT more then any other country... Sure, but Afghanistan has much more terrorists. -
Now that I think about it, it's probably going to be somebody unexpected like João Havelange.

Where Will The Next School Massacre Be?

How could the USA be #1? It'll obviously happen Afghanistan. The only reason you hear more about school massacres in the USA is because there, they are a rarity, while terrorist attacks are common in Afghanistan. -
Bizarre interpreation of the record. We've got a long way to go before we beat any records.. This how I see it... The record depends on how you phrase it: Longest time without a hit within the year would go to 1991 and 1989 shared Longest time until the first hit would go to 1987 Either way we've a long wait to break either record and declare an absolute drought. Judging by the records below the end of march could be classed as a significant drought as it would beat all bar 2 active and 1 dead year in the Deathlist history. Anyway which way no need to head to panic stations for another month or so. ----First hit of the year----- 1991 - No hits whatsoever 1989 - No hits whatsoever - potentially no list. 1987 - 2nd Jun 1992 - 23rd March 2004 - 20th March 2007 - 7th March 2003 - 5th March 2002 - 23rd Feb 2001 - 20th Feb 1997 - 19th Feb ---- We've beaten these years for the drought length within that individual year---- Will be moved as applicable. 2014 - 12th Feb 1999 - 5th Feb 2005 - 4th Feb 2010 - 28th Jan 1989 - 23rd Jan 2000 - 22nd Jan 1995 - 22nd Jan 2013 - 21st Jan 2012 - 20th Jan 2009 - 14th Jan 2008 - 10th Jan 1990 - 8th Jan 1996 - 8th Jan 2006 - 6th Jan 1993 - 6th Jan 1994 - 5th Jan 2011 - 4th Jan 1998 - 2nd Jan Actually, the year with possibly no list was 1988.BTW, you forgot to cross out Ethel Lang from your shadow list.

Pele has been in pretty bad shape recently. I reckon he might pop his clogs soon.
-
It's not that long really. Back in the 20th century most Deathlists had like 5 hits. I'm sure we'll get at least 10 this year.
-
Misao Okawa is officially the 5th oldest person in history!
-
Oh, also. There's this new artist Bea Miller who is only 16 but I have a feeling she'll become a drug addict and die at 27. Just remember: If it does happen, I called it 11 years before!

According to the National Enquirer, MTM has said "I'm ready, just let me die". I couldn't click on the article, because I live in Yoorup, but I read the header. Not like I believe the Enquirer anyway.
