  1. Fun Fact: In old Slavic tradition (the younger generations don't really continue this tradition), when people say their age, they say the age they will be turning in the current year.

For example: If somebody turns 60 in September 2015, he will already say he is 60 in March 2015.

So, if someone was born on 31 December 1929 and dies on 1 January 2010, people will say he was 81 at the time of his death, even though he just celebrated his 80th birthday!

  2.

If that deathteaser Gabor doesn't die this year: :banghead:

I'll be amazed if she does actually, she is pretty much dead really but Von Anhalt will keep her 'alive' on her machines, he is already planning her 100th Birthday party in February 2017.

    WHAT is he doing?

Double-Z probably had no idea that she just celebrated her 98th birthday, what's it gonna be like in 2017?

  3. Danuta Szaflarska, an 100-year-old Polish actress, still commonly plays sassy grandmas (she is basically Poland's Betty White) has cancelled some public appearances due to health problems the last few weeks.

I won't post any links, since they're all in Polish and none of you will understand.

  4. Well, of course he should be up there.

Mary Tyler Moore, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Terry Pratchett, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Mikhail Gorbachev, Stephen Hawking, Francis Cardinal George, Pope Benedict XVI too.

They missed a lot of good candidates.

  5.

A new National Enquirer post about her. Again, can't read it cause I live in Yoorup.

    Here's what the article says

TV legend MARY TYLER MOORE spends her sad last days in the grip of dementia, her few lucid moments are spent deciding on her resting place – while being reminded of the tragic deaths of her loved ones!

“With most of her affairs now in order, Mary is left with making the gut-wrenching and difficult decision of whether to be buried or cremated,” a family insider told The National ENQUIRER.

But the source also revealed the heartbreak behind that decision, as the beloved star, 78, ponders being buried alongside her kid sister, who died of a drug overdose – or joining her only son and her younger brother in having her ashes scattered.

Mary is wrestling with these decisions with husband Dr. Robert Levine as she lives out her remaining days at their $10 million estate in Greenwich, Conn.

The dying star is considering cremation as a tribute to her son, Richie, who died of an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound in 1980 when he was 24.

“Mary says how wonderful it would be to be free as a bird, her ashes blowing in the same clear air where Richie’s were scattered” over the Owens River in Mammoth Lakes, Calif., the source revealed.

Richie passed away just two years after Mary’s sister, Elizabeth Ann, died from a drug overdose. And Mary’s world was rocked again when her brother, John Hackett Moore, who worked as a prop man at MTM Studios, died from kidney cancer in 1991, with his body cremated.

Meanwhile, Mary’s parents and sister are interred at San Fernando Mission Cemetery in California.

“Right now, Mary’s leaning toward cremation,” said the friend.

“The thought of her ashes intermingling with Richie’s lit up Mary’s face, spreading that famous smile from cheek to cheek.”

    Thanks.

It's sad, really. I was a big fan of the MTM Show.

  6. Sad to see him go but could see for a long time that he was in considerable discomfort and pain. :( R.I.P Sam.Those who say we are taking pleasure from his death are wrong as this is a list of people we think will die not want to.Sometimes I think those outside dead pooling think otherwise.

    Exactly!

Why is it so "taboo" to admit that someone is probably going to die soon?

  7. In the end, 41.67% voted for Sam. A clear winner - though it didn't take much skill or detective work to get it right.

It should be 90%, because most of the rest of the folks probably just voted for someone else because it's swag to be different nowadays.

At least, that's what I did.

  8. RIP :(

He was one of the few people I REALLY, REALLY liked from the Deathlist/My Personal Deathlist.

Some others are: Mary Tyler Moore (big fan), Valerie Harper (as you may have guessed by now, I loved the MTM Show), Pope Francis (pretty cool guy for a pope).

  9. I doubt they would hide his death.

People are always making up conspiracies that some dictator (e.g. Fidel Castro) died and the government of whatever country the dictator is from is hiding it.

    Why would they hide it?

I mean, it's not like the public will believe the dictators are still alive 100 years after their death wasn't reported.

This is especially unlikely for current dictators like the Ayatollah.

They wouldn't hide it. They'd just announce 40 days of public mourning and anyone caught smiling would be sentenced to death.

  10. Gosh, maybe Valerie wasn't such a good choice.

Every week, there are tons of new articles about how she's feeling so well and not ready to die and how she's planning a bunch of new TV shows, blah blah blah.
