  1. Maybe ol' Stevie'll follow Thatcher's and Mandela's path.

Margie died about a year after the premiere of "The Iron Lady".

Nelson died about a few months after the premiere of "Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom".

  2.

Now that I think about it, it's probably going to be somebody unexpected like João Havelange.

I'm figuring in about 8 more posts you will have named the entire list and be able to say 'I told you so'

Shh! You'll ruin my secret plan!

  3. Oops.

I was just basing my opinion off of the massacres that you hear about on the news (most of the ones on the list weren't reported, or at least, I didn't see them reported). Oh, and also, Afghanistan has a bad reputation.

Huh... I guess the Taliban stick to bombs on buses.

Sorry for all the commotion I caused.

How could the USA be #1? It'll obviously happen Afghanistan. The only reason you hear more about school massacres in the USA is because there, they are a rarity, while terrorist attacks are common in Afghanistan.

Okay, maybe not a rarity, but it's not like they're an everyday thing. "Only" a couple of times a year.

That's still a LOT more then any other country...

Sure, but Afghanistan has much more terrorists.

2nd June 1987 to 23rd January 1989 (if you accept the recent theory, put forward by one of the committee, that there wasn't actually an 1988 Deathlist) and 18th May 1990 to 23rd March 1992 are the longest periods without a hit.

But Davey, I remind you - what year holds the Deathlist record? 2003. And there was no hits back then until March!

Bizarre interpreation of the record. We've got a long way to go before we beat any records..

    This how I see it...

The record depends on how you phrase it:

Longest time without a hit within the year would go to 1991 and 1989 shared

Longest time until the first hit would go to 1987

Either way we've a long wait to break either record and declare an absolute drought. Judging by the records below the end of march could be classed as a significant drought as it would beat all bar 2 active and 1 dead year in the Deathlist history. Anyway which way no need to head to panic stations for another month or so.

    ----First hit of the year-----

    1991 - No hits whatsoever

1989 - No hits whatsoever - potentially no list.

    1987 - 2nd Jun

    1992 - 23rd March

    2004 - 20th March

    2007 - 7th March

    2003 - 5th March

    2002 - 23rd Feb

    2001 - 20th Feb

    1997 - 19th Feb

---- We've beaten these years for the drought length within that individual year---- Will be moved as applicable.

    2014 - 12th Feb

    1999 - 5th Feb

    2005 - 4th Feb

    2010 - 28th Jan

    1989 - 23rd Jan

    2000 - 22nd Jan

    1995 - 22nd Jan

    2013 - 21st Jan

    2012 - 20th Jan

    2009 - 14th Jan

    2008 - 10th Jan

    1990 - 8th Jan

    1996 - 8th Jan

    2006 - 6th Jan

    1993 - 6th Jan

    1994 - 5th Jan

    2011 - 4th Jan

    1998 - 2nd Jan

Actually, the year with possibly no list was 1988.

BTW, you forgot to cross out Ethel Lang from your shadow list.

  7. Oh, also. There's this new artist Bea Miller who is only 16 but I have a feeling she'll become a drug addict and die at 27.

Just remember: If it does happen, I called it 11 years before!

  8. I have a feeling that Misao Okawa will be keeping her title of "Oldest Living Person" for a while, she's had it since 2013! That's the longest since Maria Capovilla, in 2004-2006.

BTW, Misao's 117th birthday is on March 5th and on February 15th she is going to beat Maria Capovilla as the 5th oldest person ever.

  9. Well, Rihanna is turning 27 in about two weeks and I think it could be her last birthday. But then again, I thought the same about Lady Gaga (who's almost 29 now, and still alive. Well, kind of) and about Kesha (who only has a few weeks until she turns 28) so I'm not good at predicting these things.

    What do you think?

  10.

Looks like he might not die soon after all

He's trying to keep active, but it's evident that he is in failing health

So is Zsa Zsa gabor... That reminds me Happy 98th next week ZZ !

Zsa Zsa has been confined to her bed for the past few years. So unless she's got a stack of crossword and wordsearch books by her bed, I don't know how she's keeping active.

Problem is, she's blind/deaf/mute/paralyzed/almost unconscious/etc. so she can't do crosswords and wordsearch.
