I see no need for the RHME rule (he said, putting his head above the parapet) and I don't care I'm not in this game and if the rule is the rule then participants sign up to it. However, the abuse of it is quite clear to me at least and again thrown into sharp relief. 1. What is the point of subs? Someone like Morrison dies 14 months ago. It does appear Hollywood Reporter will not be reporting this due to the time scale. However, if someone does mention it given the wide obit requirements, players who picked her don't use their sub, but instead gain maximum points. 2. Let's look again at Kader Khan. He was widely reported speculatively as dead, then the son came out and denied it. He died in Toronto at 6pm, 11pm UK GMT. Again not within the period of the game. Then around 5am UK GMT (midnight Toronto time) the death is reported for the first time. I know, I was up. This seems to me at least utilising possible delays in reporting using the coverage of the New Year celebrations to gain an advantage. Again a sub isn't used. Removing this would simplify the game and remove yet another controversy in fairness to all players. If it is a strict rule the death must occur on or after 1 January, the time of death is as far as practical determined by local time and if a person is ruled out, a sub replaces the corpse. However, again I stress this isn't a complaint, it is merely a suggestion to smooth running. It might be fast and furious in order to give MPFC a quick result, but the continuing issues of this actually mean more, not less, work for MPFC imo. *runs away*

Edit: Nevermind, seems not to have been confirmed as yet. I'm keeping watch...

Implied in this tweet is the death at some point of Dorothy Morrison: Hollywood Reporter are looking into it.

The interminable wait for a Don Lusk obit continues... Meantime, this pool will be closing in a couple of days. I'm not checking your entries (unless a Doreen Keough type comes in) so if you think you've a death and a QO I've missed, let me know. The lights on last year's casino are dimming, and I'm paying off the EU born bouncers....

Don't forget the subs for those who go in the latter stages of the previous year! Horrid job. Must be a way of electronically submitting as Deathers suggests.

So .. What Do You Watch On TV?
YoungWillz replied to Banshees Scream's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
I persevered with ABC Murders and watched the whole thing. This was almost like they had sat down and said "Well everyone knows the story, so WE will throw in THIS and give it equal weight and it WILL be good". Now, I'd say a fairly intelligent child of 10 could have worked out the murderer at the close of episode 1. Because, like yer turkey on Christmas Day, it was presented on a plate. Regardless, I maintain the acting in this is some of the best I have seen on BBC drama in years. -

Not happy Tandy is not a unique for me, @machotrouts, ha ha. Only joking, whatever went on this year with his health just had me suspicious enough to pop him on my team.

There's enough distance now. So, I'm the instinctive kind of guy, so there'll be a few names here you might know, might not. 12 Lords A-Leaving etc: Alex Ferguson - 1st Male Sub - Bad in the brain, I still think it's possible he'll have a re-occurrence. Ric Flair - 2nd Male Sub - Who sits down throughout their whole wedding? And boozes before tributing on the BBC? Still, he's still going and marriage might be good for him for a while. Franco Zeffirelli - 3rd Male Sub- Age and Forum speculation got him here, but I don't know enough to put him up there. Linda Nolan - 2nd Female Sub - Didn't qualify for my TOTP theme team, else she'd have been on it and with so many ill dames out there, didn't make it. Nichelle Nichols - 3rd Female Sub - Again, deteriorating for ages, but not ill enough to beat out the competition. Others considered: Hugh Rossi (former MP who just lost his missus last year); Robert Morse (Oldwillz watching an old re-run); Actor Patrick Murray (seems to have COPD, but not advanced enough, still did the Jolly Boy's Outing later); Chaz McDevitt (one of those he's still alive? picks); Bunny Wailer (of Bob Marley etc) I'm going to regret not picking him I think he's pretty far gone. Comedy Cremations Robert Fyfe - Sub - old and ill Summer Winer. Richard O'Sullivan- Sub - dropped this year, looked pretty good meeting Prince Harry's missus, I may put him back on next year if he lives. Others dropped: Jackie Mason (he's getting up there, but the gefilter fish and dumplings are good); Mel Brooks (don't want to admit he'll go); Mike Yarwood (who knows, once he hits 84 he might return to my team). Hits of 1983: David Paich (Toto)- Sub - seems to having issues especially with touring, edged out by Tandy of ELO for similar reasons. Elton John - Sub - about time for another illness during his tour. One wrong move onstage and pow! Rod Stewart - Sub - his appearance on Strictly was enough for a subs spot, not the main team. Think he had a spot of pneumonia, weak chest etc. Others considered: Mick Foster (Foster and Allen) simply on age, still touring; Meatloaf but when I submitted my team I hadn't seen the latest pics, might be a huge miss; Larry McDonald (Monyaka) he's 81 and a drummer!!!!!! but I'm not sure he'd obit; Don Powell (Slade) might have picked him, but only one space per band this year was the rule and Jim Lea has been very ill; Dionne Warwick simply on the basis that Aretha success might have gone to my head!
