Finally corralled up the update, just making sure no recent LotL/LotM names slipped through the cracks?

Faith Ringgold was last picked in 2022.

You can probably now add Steve Smith (footballer) to the List of the Lost.

  2. Luciano Susanj, Croatian who competed for Yugoslavia at the 400m and 800m, winning gold at the 1974 European Championships at 800m, reportedly dead: https://www-telegraf-rs.translate.goog/sport/atletika/3872895-umro-lucano-susanj?_x_tr_sl=auto&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en&_x_tr_pto=wapp

He later became a Croatian politician, and subsequently was appointed to the Croatian Olympic Committee as Vice President.

    Their Seb Coe in short.

Thousands of missiles fired at Gaza, we've not looked to shoot down a single one. A foreign embassy flattened, we didn't say a word. Now we're blowing up Iranian missiles not aimed at us. This is bound to end well.

Sunak has just said the action taken was to protect the security here at home.

I beg to differ. I've never seen such a small man with so little international pull try to play the big man.

  4. Sunak was so quick out of the traps with his statement on the Iran attack on Israel. (Completely silent of course when Israel attacked the embassy in Syria).

So does he think getting involved will be his Falklands moment? He's seriously deluded if he thinks dragging the UK into this right now has much support in this country. Israel should exist, but this isn't our fight. Providing arms to Israel is really dodgy given what's going on in Gaza - an escalation which puts our bases in Cyprus and inevitably our own territory at risk isn't what I'd call a good move.

This isn't a vote winner. But as he clings to the last days of his Government, he could do some serious damage to us.

    Without ever being elected.

This belongs in the Royal Family thread.

Tbh, I'm posting him here as he's on my list of Dukes, Marquesses and Earls posted in this thread.

    But feel free to cross-post.

Am i missing the point with this Angela story? It screams of any last ditch attempt to discredit her.

Meanwhile in the real world, I see diesel is up in price again this week, food is increasing and I've a toothache with no real NHS  dentist within a 100 miles. But for £1500 - the Tories want to discredit an MP. Get real.

Well, while I suspect there is little to no merit in the claims against Rayner, I'm against tax dodgers in general, regardless of the sum.

In the week where benefit fraudsters were allowed to claim 53 million squids from the State, and the week where the DWP are consciously prosecuting unpaid carers for repayment of benefits the DWP knew or ought to have known should not have been claimed, this is a bit pathetic.

Tighten up the tax rules, don't strike deals with dodgers like Zahawi, make the big corporations pay what they are due and put your computer systems at the DWP in order. Then maybe the Government can pay out the compensation properly due to the infected blood scandal, the Windrush scandal, the Post Office scandal etc etc and still have loads left for tax cuts and fixing the country's problems.

    IMO.

  7. Prince Richard, Duke of Gloucester has sold his childhood home Barnwell Manorhttps://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-13303293/EDEN-CONFIDENTIAL-Ellie-Goulding-Princesses-Eugenie-Beatrice-Royal-Albert-Hall.html

The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester should have a spring in their step this weekend.

They have, I can disclose, finally sold Barnwell Manor in Northamptonshire, the Duke's childhood home.

The Duke, cousin of Queen Elizabeth, put the Tudor mansion on the market 18 months ago, seeking £4.75 million.

Last summer, he trimmed £500,000 from the asking price — enough, it transpires, to do the trick.

Mentions of the proposed sale on Wiki, thought it worth a mention.

5 / 9 of the names on that list are still alive.

Well, relatively speaking, there weren't that many names on that list in the first place.

it's all in the title :) and some people will hate me for staring a new topic but I'd rather start a new one then fight on patriotism in the old one :)

the reason i start this is because they don't tend to live that long and there are not many of them big ones, so here are some of the oldest and most famous fashion designers:

    Pierre Cardin - 93

    Valentino - 84

    Karl Lagerfeld - 82

    Giorgio Armani - 81

    Carolina Herrera - 77

    Ralph Lauren - 76

    Roberto Cavalli - 75

    Vivienne Westwood - 75

    Calvin Klein - 73

Not many survivors from the above, but Roberto Cavalli dead as reported elsewhere.

Need I say it? Picked last year, but dropped this year and that's why @Death Impends he's a List of the Missed. https://www.derbydeadpool.co.uk/deadpool2023/celebs_C.html#cavalr

Neville Staple celebrated his 69th birthday yesterday with a "backyard jam":

He's clinging on for dear life to that chair. But fortunately he's alive and singing, nothing ever change, woooahh woah.

George Schappell was trans, Lori wasn't, and Spade ran a trans theme team that year.

    Aha!

Amazing. Solves that mystery straight away though. Thanks.

@Death Impends I have George Schappell a former DDP pick last picked in 2019: https://www.derbydeadpool.co.uk/deadpool2019/celebs_S.html#schapg

And Lori Schappell last picked in 2018: https://www.derbydeadpool.co.uk/deadpool2018/celebs_S.html#schapl

I wonder why they only picked the one in 2019?

Anyhow, both List of the Missed.
