Interesting move from Fernando. Think he's sized it up and decided Red Bull won't choose to put him alongside Max and Mercedes are lukewarm too. Also probably looking at Mercedes v Aston Martin and, as he suggested this week, "why would I want to be in their car? It's slower." In all seriousness, it's a statement of intent for Aston Martin. If their updates this season can get them back towards the front, and they've got Honda coming on board from Red Bull, they could become a force to be reckoned with. Think Fernando has at least one more win in him if things fall his way, he's certainly still performing well enough. Carlos is boxed into a corner unfortunately. He deserves so much better. But this is not the best time to be joining Mercedes, although they should be better placed than most to recover. But we've been saying that for 3 seasons. I'd love to see him in Checo's seat at Red Bull, but can see them hanging onto him if he keeps performing like last week.

    By -Election Bingo 2019-2024

    Lord Ashcroft, is that you?
  3. Should be a big clue, one would think. Can you imagine the Tories' dirty laundry coming out just before the election? Should be done by then. But, then again, early November is usually a big time for book launches ahead of the Christmas rush, so it could just be pencilled in for then and, should the election not have happened, it will get pushed back.
  4. 70s #3s next? When's the 2010s #1s happening? I mean, I'll know a lot more of the 70s #3s than the 2010s #1s but just curious. I know it was mooted.

  6. It's a fair bet if you were too old for 06-07 that you'll be too old for 08-09 two years later.
  7. You'll have to find it. It's the winning song for the winner of "Britain's Got the Pop Factor... and Possibly a New Celebrity Jesus Christ Soapstar Superstar Strictly on Ice."
  8. At least we all followed the rules. @Toast will be pleased, but she's not even here to complain!

    Golf: The 19th Hole

If anybody wants to do some form spotting, Nicklaus took part in the honorary starters tee off this morning, alongside Player and Tom Watson (spring chicken at 75). Holds his wife's(?) arm as he makes his way out, and makes a joke about struggling to bend over to put the tee in but still whacks it alright. Player looks like he fancies playing the full 18.

Not being pedantic but Gary Player isn't 90 for another 18 months. Don't get me wrong, 88 is old (he's 4 years older than Nicklaus) but 18 months is a lot at that age. Agree he's going nowhere soon though.
  13. Don't worry, he's bound to find something he despises in the next round.
  14. Shaping up for another midnight scramble to finish this round!

I'll be honest, until you said that I assumed this thread was the one it isn't. #themoreyouknow

14 years of being run down by the Tories all so Alison Pearson can say "I told you so". What a vile woman. What they've done to the NHS over the past decade-and-a-half breaks my heart.

WTF is he even claiming there? That he's liable to be robbed if wearing valuables?

So .. What Do You Watch On TV?

Is Mulholland Drive weird? Never seen it but heard good things and the premise seems suitable for an entry-level Lynch offering. Not sure I've seen anything by him, but know his reputation.
