I know this will be an honest mistake on your part, but you appear to have posted the same story twice in 4 hours, both times without comment...
  2. I concur. Dido is our only point of conflict!
  3. @Bibliogryphon's better at this than me, but if my maths are correct, with an average of 20-odd players a day, it's going to take at least another 3 days to reach a conclusion.
  4. If it's any consolation Coldplay are definitely making it through in my top 7 and Mis-Teeq were the lucky recipients of slot 7 once Shakira had gone. The voting in this round is wild, we could have our 5th different song end the day top in the past week. And don't lose heart yet, once some songs are put in trouble, it completely changes people's voting decisions for the following day. Happy with 5 of the top 7 currently, I think I've revealed my hand on the two I'd like to remove...
  5. Are you trying to make @TQR self-combust?

    Seen Any Good Films Lately?

I'll be seeing this in a week or two. Can't say I'm wildly looking forward to it. The first one dragged for me - too long and ponderous. Can't remember the plot that well, so the second one should be fun! Paul Atreides is an outcast, his father has been killed and he's been taken in by Zendaya's people is where we left it. There's also some giant sand worms and everyone's obsessed with spice. That's what I got from more than 2.5 hours of screen time...
  10. The 7 left that I would put through are currently in the top 9, so I'll take that. Not expecting to get all 7 through though. And Shakira was still robbed.
  11. Fair to middling I would say, but better than it was.

Well I did think that, but it seems he's not personally planning to stand in her seat, just that his party will be successful there. But I suppose he'll see which way the wind's blowing come election time!

    Ian St John

Checking the TV schedules for the evening and this caught my eye. No interest in the show, but if Saint and Greavesie are going in that would raise some eyebrows!

And now Galloway's claiming his party will depose Angela Rayner as there's 15,000 of his supporters living there. Well there are c. 40,000 Muslims in Rochdale, George and you got 12,000 votes, so fill your boots.

Yeah, but clearly it's Labour's fault because they're the only mainstream party capable of winning an election. At least, that's what it seems to me Bim's saying...

Mirroring that view, Conservative minister Bim Afolami told ITV's Good Morning Britain: "We're going to have to endure him and that is really the fault of the Labour party." This is in relation to Galloway being sworn in. Got to love that the Tories are blaming this on Labour - what happened to trying to get the blue candidate elected, Bim?

High Voltage I'll leave the low-hanging fruit for someone else, good work people. I don't mind the Darkness track so I'm not going to downvote, but equally not going to step in to save it. Instead, time to start thinking towards the endgame and moving something down that has ridden too high for too long.

    Football Manager Sacking Bingo 3

Indeed it is. This one has caught me by surprise, John Coleman is a local legend in these parts. I know it's been rumoured for a little while, he's not been offered a new contract despite wanting one and there's been some disciplinary issues between him and his assistant Jimmy Bell and some of the referees. Nevertheless, what he's done for Accrington Stanley ("Who are they?!") can never be understated. When he first took over at the Crown Ground, Accrington Stanley were in the Unibond (Northern) Premier League Division One - Tier 7 of the pyramid at the time. By 2003, they had won promotion both from Divison One and then the Northern Premier League to compete in the Conference, Tier 5 of the pyramid and the highest rank of non-league. 3 years later, they won the Conference and re-entered the Football League for the first time in 44 years. Despite one of the smallest budgets in the league, Accrington survived their first season back and established themselves in the 4th tier and in 2010-11, they reached the play-offs. The following season saw Coleman leave for a new opportunity at Rochdale in League One (how that situation has changed!) but he was sacked a year later and 18 months after that returned to Accrington in September 2014. After missing out on promotion on the final day in 2015-16 (and then losing in the play-offs) in 2018, they won League Two to move into the 3rd tier for the first time since the early 1960s. They spent 5 years in League One before being relegated last summer. They are 16th in a very tight play-off race in League Two this season, but got hammered 4-0 by Wrexham yesterday, which seems to have been the final straw. A rather brief 43-word statement ended more than 20 years of association between Coleman and Bell at Accrington, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him back for a third spell at some point. Time will tell. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68460389 A unique hit in this game for Wannamaker, which puts him at the 50% completion stage and joint-2nd with Sly Ronnie, one behind leader GUB. Updated Scoreboard Great Uncle Bulgaria - 11 Sly Ronnie, Wannamaker - 10 Lady Fiona, Rover and Out - 9 Bibliogryphon - 8 Diego, Maryportfuncity - 7 MariNisia, Commtech Sio Bibble, Buffalo Phil - 6
  21. This is a better solution IMO. I've voted either side of midnight a couple of times, usually for convenience, sometimes for impact. I think it's part of the tactics of the game to try and work out when your votes can be most useful. I may hold off voting in case something is close to being eliminated in order to get rid once it loses a couple more points, or I might try and set a few up to fall like the other day. On other occasions, I've no option but to vote quickly because songs I like may be kicked out otherwise. Sometimes it works, often it doesn't, but that's all part of the game for me.

So .. What Do You Watch On TV?

Same with the books in lots of charity shops. And the Music Magpie in my local Asda - just in any old order, you've got to go looking for a needle in a haystack. It's an annoyance.
  24. I know you think that I shouldn't still love it, or tell you that. But if I didn't say it, well I'd still have felt it - where's the sense in that? Nice to see Toast at least trying to move the game along at the bottom, unlike you lot with your Dido obsession!
