Lamin Conteh, a former Sierra Leone national team captain who played at two African Nations Cups for them in 1994 and 1996, has died aged 45. He played 18 times for the national team and scored four goals in a career that took him to clubs in Belgium, Germany, Malaysia and the Middle East. Leo Wilden, a part of the West Germany squad at the 1962 World Cup but didn't play a minute has died aged 82. Days removed from the passing of Naci Erdem, another member of the Turkey squad from the 1954 World Cup has died. Warrior Junior, a member of a prominent family of luchadors, died of reasons yet to be clarified on March 17th. He was the son of Black Warrior, a longtime rival of Mistico, who went on to be the original Sin Cara in WWE and was married to the daughter of the legendary Negro Casas. Aleksei Bakharev, a midfielder who won one cap for both Russia and Ukraine in his career, has died aged 45. His sole cap for Russia came in a friendly with Brazil on November 18th 1998. And his sole cap for Ukraine came on August 21st 2002 against Iran. His playing career took him to several clubs in Russia, with two spells at Lada Togliatti between 1994 and 1997, returning there for a year in 2006. The club he made the most appearances for, however, was Shakhtar Donetsk, where he made 124 appearances and scoring 10 goals between 1999 and 2006 - including one at Highbury against Arsenal in the Champions League in 2000. Nikolai Manoshin, a member of the USSR squad for the 1962 World Cup - but didn't play a game - has died aged 83. https://rfs.ru/news/215256 He played plenty for Torpedo Moscow and then CSKA Moscow before embarking on a nomadic managerial career which saw him manage Somalia, Yemen and Mali while juggling numerous roles over the years at CSKA Moscow. He had eight caps for the USSR.

Jens Jørgen Hansen, who won four Danish titles with Esbjerg fB between 1961 and 1965, has died aged 82. Jacques Zimako, the first player of Kanak (Indigenous native of New Caledonia) origin to be capped for France, has died aged 69. A forward, he began his career at the Corsican club SC Bastia where he made 134 appearances and scored 42 goals before moving to Saint-Etienne in 1977 where he scored 30 goals in 120 games. During his time with Les Verts, he won the French title in 1981 before moving onto Sochaux and then returning to Bastia between 1983 and 1985 before retiring.

Lars Høgh, who played for Denmark in their final group game, a victory over West Germany and knockout round loss to Spain at the 1986 World Cup, has died aged 62. A one-club man, the goalkeeper spent the entirety of his playing career at Odense Boldklub between 1977 and 2000. In the shadow of the great Peter Schmeichel, he only made eight appearances for Denmark but was in their squads for the King Fahd Cup (A tournament retroactively referred to as an edition of the Confederations Cup) in 1995 and also at Euro 96. And finally, he was voted as Danish goalkeeper of the year five times in 1986, 1989, 1991, 1993 and 1994.

Bernardo Tengarrinha, a midfielder who had four Portuguese Under-21 caps and had spells at multiple clubs in his homeland, mostly on loan from FC Porto, where he never played a league match has died aged 32 of Hodgkin Lymphoma. He had initially put his career on hold in 2017 to fight leukaemia.
