Today's weirdness (of a reported increase of just 111 but an increase in the total reported deaths figure of 545) rather throws this game off... but I'll go ahead and guess an increase of 340 for tomorrow anyway.

Now I'm tempted to make it four... But I'm going to predict an even 300 instead ;-)

Very reasonable deathlist pick.

Total for today is 363. Well done miracle aligner. Looking at the data, a lot of the deaths being reported currently are from some weeks ago, incidentally. Prediction for tomorrow: 310

Depends entirely on the state of his heart and blood vessels. He might well require help, though (eg medications this message board marks as spam).

More likely the latest toll reported today will be over 400 - the Tuesday report is usually at least as high as the figure at the end of the previous week (because of catch up from missed w/e registrations).

Five way race, surely?

Snippet of good news: the daily covid death toll worldwide does seem to have been on a slowly falling downwards trajectory worldwide over the last month, from over 8000 at its peak on April 17th to 3500-5500 per day over the last week. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/worldwide-graphs/#daily-deaths. Of course these figures are incomplete and only offer the most cursory of glances at the global picture, but it still seems generally positive.

Tuesday 460 I'm now abandoning my practice of rounding off all guesstimates to the nearest 25, and have taken them down to the nearest 10, to be a bit more precise.

Today's total confirmed at 384 (well done Paul Bearer, BuffaloPhil The Old Crem and Exu). My prediction for Saturday: 350

Are you calling them a false prophet? ;-) Seriously, though, although the Wuhan authorities managed to pull the wool over the WHO's eyes in early January, before January was up, the WHO were correctly calling this a global health emergency. If it took some Western gvts until mid to late March to make any serious response, that's on them.
