I think he will give living Americans another peculiar presidential experience (besides the non-consecutive terms) and die in office of natural causes. I think after a decade the testimony of a physician who treated him at the time of his injury can be safely disregarded. The idea that vegetative states are permanent has been thoroughly debunked. Let’s all agree we have no idea how cognitively impaired this man is and leave it at that.

That’s nonsense. We have executed at least 200 innocent people since the death penalty was reinstated. I can’t fathom how anyone would endorse the death penalty for more crimes when we can’t manage to do it properly already.
