    Curse Of The Eurovision

Jori Sivonen has died at 71. He composed "Titanic" that failed to become Finland's 1981 entry. It hit an iceberg in the national selection. Excellent song though
  11. Pussy is the most beautiful word in English. (In you-know-what we have the word pussi which means a bag, nothing else.) Before I die I must know: Is this word derived from Bastet, the Egyptian goddess with the head of a cat? And which is better, Scotch or bourbon?

    Death Anniversary Thread

Sirkka Sari, a Finnish film star died 70 years ago in a bizarre accident, aged 19. She was attending a party with the rest of the cast and crew of her third and last film (in which she was the female lead); the party and its location had been her idea. Always a maverick, she suddenly decided to visit the roof of the hotel where's a chimney with a ladder. Ms Sari probably mistook the chimney for a scenery balcony, climbed to the top, fell 90 feet down and hit the furnace.

    A Joke

Prime Minister of Finland Ahti Karjalainen was visiting Kenya back in 1971, and naturally his hosts took him on a safari. They drove for miles on a rattling jeep, and finally encountered an elephant. Dr Karjalainen pointed at it with his finger, and remarked: 'Tankero!' His main host, the local foreign minister, smiled heartily, and nodded in agreement not to offend his guest. They kept on going, and crossed a small river. There were some hippos bathing in the water, and Dr Karjalainen pointed at them saying again: 'Tankero!'. The local host laughed a bit, and agreed: 'Yes, yes', but was getting seemingly confused at the same time. The sun was getting close to the horizon, and pretty soon they had to get going back to town. While they were returning on their tracks, they suddenly noticed a lion laying down in the high grass. 'Tankero!' was Dr Karjalainen's remark again. Now the African minister, puzzled, turned to the Finnish PM's aide, and asked: 'What is he trying to say?' 'You'll see soon' was the humble reply, and while they were crossing back through the park's entrance gate they noticed a big sign with a warning: 'All animals are dangerous.'
  18. I really like this easy cocktail that I have invented - 50% canned Thai coconut (T.A.S), 50% gin (Finsbury). Just chill them in the fridge and then mix. I think this is the best drink. It's even better than the Moscow mule. Whenever I drink this I feel am obeying the word of God - Hallelujah
  19. But that's only 95% pure. Is this what I need: Dehydrated alcohol, 200 Proof, Pure Ethanol >99.9% 450ml
