Two Iranian politicians have already fallen victim. Also, ex-Danish international footballer Thomas Kahlenberg has caught the disease. https://www.si.com/soccer/2020/03/05/thomas-kahlenberg-coronavirus-denmark Thought a new thread dedicated to it might be useful/necessary.

I've been voting Le Pen over a year now, so Le Pen until he goes

Well, this didn't take long at all - and Jimmy Carter's managed to outlive another one somehow

Social media (including some respectable source) is heavily suggesting he's faked his death to avoid being captured and tried for treason by Ukraine now that Russia has retreated from Kherson, so it's a toss up as to his actual status - though he's been "officially" declared dead by the Russians, ofc. -

There are some rumors on Twitter and Reddit that the 8 dead in the Evin prison fire is just the tip of the iceberg, and the Iranian regime is waiting on the protests to die down (good luck) before announcing more names. Given the people imprisoned there, this could get ugly, and fast. In more Evin news, rock climber Elnaz Rekabi, who competed without a hijab, has gone missing: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/oct/18/fears-for-iranian-climber-elnaz-rekabi-after-she-competed-in-seoul-without-a-hijab Iran says she's on her way home to Iran, rumors abound that she's to be imprisoned in Evin once she gets there. -
For completeness's sake, as mentioned elsewhere: Nepalese scholar Satya Mohan Joshi dead at 102/103 (death notice says 103, Wiki says 102): https://kathmandupost.com/national/2022/10/16/culture-expert-and-historian-satya-mohan-joshi-passes-away

Bellingcat's Christo Grozev has thoughts on Girkin's potential fate - and given it's Grozev, he knows what he's talking about. -
Seems it was a health thing: Not sure what it is, but might be worth keeping an eye on

Rumors going around that erstwhile Wagner Group head Yevgeny Prigozhin has vanished into thin air ever since going to the front and may be dead. Twitter OSINT folks currently having a prayer circle for confirmation so they can throw a rager. -
No, but Heche had previously said that she believes her father was gay: https://books.google.co.in/books?id=G2UEAAAAMBAJ&pg=PA32&source=gbs_toc_r&cad=2#v=onepage&q&f=false
-
If Heche's autobiography is to be believed (her sister + mother have different stories, which is why I say if), her father sexually abused her as a kid, her mom knew and did nothing. Her father was also a closeted gay man who died of AIDS, and her brother killed himself. Whether that's true aside, what is true is that her mom is an outspoken advocate of conversion therapy and, when Heche publically dated Ellen, claimed Heche betrayed her because there was an unspoken agreement in the family that the "homosexuals" are not to be tolerated.
-
I mean, the conditions to avoid places to protect kids are all well and good, but the issue is she's 40 and can conceivably have another kid. Unless they plan on taking potential future kid into care as soon as they're born, people like this shouldn't be let out until they're incapable of having kids IMO (or prohibited from having them, but that's never going to happen, is it?)

I agree on him looking his age, especially in the picture gcreptile posted - that said, given that he's being sued into oblivion, there some case going on w/ his ex-wife, the Jan 6th committee, potential perjury charges depending on how much the courts really want to fuck with him... He's likely going to age a million years in the next 12 months, and he's definitely a "take a fly on him just in case" candidate

Actress Anne Heche reportedly in critical condition in the hospital following a car crash: https://people.com/movies/anne-heche-critical-condition-after-fiery-car-crash-la-home-reports/?utm_campaign=peoplemagazine&utm_content=new&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_term=62edbfe3dd0cfc0001185930

With that pic, i wouldn't be surprised if he goes before Carter

That quite frankly may have played a role in this happening I've seen the video - the first shot missed him and, while his bodyguards reacted fast, they were nowhere near fast enough for people meant to be guarding a major politician - got in position to protect him about a second after the second shot hit him. You'd imagine that if this was a country with more gun deaths (Japan has about 10-20 gun deaths a year - one year with about 40 was considered to be an abnormal high), the guards would be better trained to react between shots 1 and 2. That and, in terms of gun ownership, you really can't do much if the person is nuts enough to make their own tbh. It was a full on homemade shotgun, with rumors floating that the ammo was homemade as well. Ammo was def black powder based on the sound of the shots, and at that point, no amount of legislation banning gun ownership will help.

From what I can figure from reports + social media, it was a right-wing ex-military guy who was upset Abe's policies when he was in charge weren't right wing enough
-
This is going to be celebrated in both Korea and China. Internal politics aside, Abe was a committed nationalist who believed that Japan did nothing wrong in WW2, refuted to admit they were wrong during Nanjing, said the "comfort women" were never kidnapped/raped, and attended a yearly honoring of the worse of the Japanese war criminals. His maternal grandfather was literally known as the Butcher of Nanjing for his role in WW2. To East and Southeast Asia, he was basically the equivalent of a German Chancellor saying Hitler was right.

And this, it should be noted, is after being done up by professional make up artists.

German media as well (DW). I wonder if it's just the relevant QO websites being overwhelmed with QEII content alongside Ukraine war and US mass shootings? Let's see what shakes loose once the Jubilee celebrations are done
