I applaud anyone who is trying to quit, straight edge, ex alcoholic etc. Keep going. I am 30 but got into (proper) drinking late, so by time I really wanted to go out to nightclubs etc, my friends had already been in that phase and were over it already. So i've only properly been to a night club maybe three times in ten years. I still feel like I need to get some things out of my system but slight problem: - We're in quarantine - Pubs near me are closing in general (this before quarantine) or drinks are too expensive. - I hate any beer people suggest to me, this may be just the beer my dad or brother drinks - Most of my friend group are now sober, or at least when we are out can't drink because they are driving - If I wanted a proper night out i'd have to spend £20 just to get there, add then like £30 for an entrance fee etc. - I hung round a crowd at college handful of times that drank in fields and introduced me to WKD etc but that got boring fast and so stopped. Especially when I one of their "friends" was a creep who kept trying to touch me up. My parents go to France every year and so stock up on wine etc coming back and spend like 600 Euros to put in storage around the house etc. However they are not alcoholics. They can make 1 wine bottle last a week. Every now and then i'll have a small glass of red wine at dinner. Don't talk to me about white wine, hate it. Champagne on the other hand... So yeah i've never had a hangover, got drunk properly maybe twice, drink mainly at Christmas or on my birthday. If out to dinner i'll have lemonade or vodka and lemonade.

If anyone wants this to be added to conspiracy theory about government hiding PPE from staff. Also from a nurse schoolfriend:

I wish news outlets (or police for that matter) would stop naming the shooters etc. We shouldn't be glorifying these idiots so that in a few years time someone will want to be like them or a film will be made about it etc.

From Catherine Tate on Twitter when doing a Doctor Who live watch with half the cast of Doctor Who:

Nine years ago today Elizabeth Sladen passed and Russell T. Davis wrote this. Featuring cameos from actors from Sarah Jane Adventures and companions Jo and Ace: It is now also canon that Mickey and Martha's kid is called August and Tegan and Nyssa are a couple.

Check in on Eurovision's Youtube channel every Saturday as they livestream a random year. Yesterday was 1997 when we last won it. I also noticed Stephen Gately performed with Boyzone. So I guess his death technically could have been a curse many years later. I would link it here but it's only going to be up for a week.

One day he's going to be trending on Twitter and think it's just something he's promoting and not actually dead. Today's issue of is he dead or not, David is just talking about Covid-19 but doesn't have it (yet).

Add this 90 year old who will end up falling down the stairs because she has bad knees.

He looks ill like someone who is dying of HIV or a guy who has an eating disorder. Shouldn't he be getting muscle due to still being in Marvel as Black Panther? Unless he's doing a new project that involves weight loss and is doing a Christian Bale.

If Boris gets his head out of his ass he'll increase funding to NHS now or...just do something to boost things.

It is the sad truth based off what a nurse colleague told me a while back when we discussed how much it costs to train a nurse and why bursary money was taken away etc. I do love my Filipino and Indian colleagues where I work mind, i've learnt a lot from them. It was a culture shock in my first week considering over 80% of staff I guess are Filipino or Indian.

Well he could put the money towards nursing scholarships. I worked it out and on average for a four year degree a UK nurse has to pay £36k in student fees (9k per year). This is rough estimate from doing a quick Google. So based on £13 million he could pay for about 360 NHS nurses to be trained in UK.

Update from where I work: 250+ cases currently in the two a&e hospitals as patients, but that number is going down (-20 from one hospital overnight - I get no emails about deaths, just recoveries and current inpatients). After contacting my manager over email this morning asking when the hell should I be booking people, my head of department then emailed everyone just before I left work to say we can book people for appointments from 1st June. However the referrals will have a 5 month delay for non urgent patients. At least for me because I already had a 8 week delay for non urgent patients (in mid March I was booking referrals for late January). I think the main hospital is also going to run Saturday and Sunday clinics to try and catch up - I don't know about where I work yet.

He'll die of exhaustion at this rate. Possibly being egged on by relatives who stay with him because they may want part of the money.
-
Ah you beat me to it. With the amount of walking he's going to die from blisters before anything related to his age or Covid. Last I checked he has raised £5 million.
-
After things have settled down and there will probably be a report made on things like deaths in care homes and those who didn't die in hospitals with it - i'd love to see those figures.

Can I add Trump's sanity as a victim?

Honestly I gave up writing everyone's proper titles halfway through because i've spent a week trying to organise this list, lol. Lord, Lady, Baroness...fuck who cares.

What are you doing to kill the boredom.

My dad I swear can never not do something. He usually plays at least two hours of tennis a week with his doubles partner, but the tennis clubs are currently closed so they can't do anything. Also his work has dried up. This weekend he's been cleaning the drainpipes and now painting them. I don't think i've ever seen him relax and just read a book. -

I'm having a flashback to secondary school when I did coursework on that damn volcano. As long as Yellowstone doesn't erupt then I think we're cool. -
Been going through current and past members of House of Lords still alive. I had to remove a lot of people in their 80's because list was getting too long: L = Left HOL/retired since 2014 when HOL reform act came into place and are still living since April 2019. Baron Michael Shaw - 99 (L) Baronees Pamela Sharples - 97 (L) Baroness Jill Knight - 96 (L) Baron Henry Plumb - 95 (L) Baron Francis Tombs - 95 Baron Norman Macfarlane - 94 (L) Baron Tony Christopher - 94 Baron John Eden - 94 (L) Robert Lindsay, 29th Earl of Crawford - 93 (L) Baron David Stoddart - 93 Viscount William Lloyd George - 92 (L) Baron Bertram Bowyer - 92 Baronees Trixie Gardner - 92 Baron James Mackay - 92 Baron Terence Higgins - 92 (L) Baron John Sainsbury - 92 (on leave of absense) Baron Stanley Clinton-Davis - 91 (L) Baroness Sally Oppenheim-Barnes - 91 (L) Baron Nicolas Rea - 91 Baron Bill Rodgers - 91 Baron Dick Taverne - 91 Baroness Betty Boothroyd - 90 Baron Rodney Elton - 90 Baron David Craig - 90 Baron Doug Hoyle - 90 Baron David Nickson - 90 Baron Tony Lloyd - 90 (L) Lady Flora Fraser - 89 (L) Lord John Prescott - 81 (recently had a stroke) Why are there people in their 90's making decisions on laws in HOL?

So the forest around Chernobyl is on fire still. 2020 is really trying to kill us huh.

I think all things considered Matt Hancock has done ok. Raab is a useless person to have as a deputy in a crisis. He doesn't have the same... presentation as any other leader of a party or country has etc. You need to be calm in a crisis and give the public confidence. Now with the treatment Boris has had with NHS nurses will he give them back their bursaries so they can actually train without being in debt?
