What amazes me here is how young Catherine looks! Ladies and gentlemen may I remind you that this is a 47 years old woman!

With Chuck Berry's passing, is Fats now the oldest soul in Rock and Roll? I can't think of anybody else older unless you count Dave Bartholomew (born 1918, 98 years old) but I don't know if his stuff can be considered 100% rock. (he's in the RnR HoF tho) Ironically, Bartholomew is a long time collaborator and friend of Domino (he composed "Ain't That a Shame" and "Blue Monday", among others.) Here you can see the two artists reunited a couple years ago. From the looks of it, Dave will probably live to be 110. Can't say the same about Fats tho.

I was watching "Captain Blood" with her and Errol Flynn yesterday and suddenly thought to myself: "It feels really weird to watch a black and white movie from 1935 whose lead actress is still with us."

Yes, he is still alive. If you go to the "view history" page of the article in question you'll see that the reason he was removed by a wikipedia user by the name of "Dorglorg" is that "there's not enough evidence backing up his age".

What surprises me the most is that none of the "dead certs" have died yet...No King Michael, no Christie, no 41, no Downie...They're all still alive and the year is already half over.

Italian critic Gillo Dorfles celebrates his 107th anniversary today Dr. Sri Sri Sri Sivakumara Swamiji, famous Indian humanitarian, celebrated becoming a supercentenarian some days ago.

You guys should really think about Little Richard for next year (if he survives this year) He's one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century, and all news about his current state of health inevitably point to his looming demise. I'm honestly surprised that he doesn't have his own thread yet.

The people, the food, the beaches, the nature, the architecture...everything there is wonderful. Plus, for a student, everything there is quite affordable (as long as you keep out of the touristic sites )
