    U.S Election

'Stop the vote, Trump landslide!' - Crem, probably.

    U.S Election

Could we call Netanyahu and say there are Palestinian orphans sheltering there? Would make short work of them.

He's certainly not got to grips with Harvard referencing.

    Holiday Thread

Went on a uni fieldtrip to Iceland 15 years ago. Found Reykjavik a bit on the boring side, but the landscapes along the south coast where we were based were stunning. Wandered around on a glacier, visited the Kvernufoss waterfall and the fishing village of Vik. It rained almost constantly but when the sun came out it was beautiful.

    U.S Election

That last post was fucking stupid, even by his standards. A literal single-digit sample size.

    Michael Moore

Turns out the answer was yes. 74 might be a push.

    Prince Andrew

Writing was on the wall for Andrew as soon as his mum died. Charles views him, quite rightly, as a costly embarrassment and has been gradually easing him off the payroll.

Don't forget that one of them was her actual (step)child.

    Sir Michael Caine

Their birthday is/was March 14th though, so the article was more about him in his 91st year. Fun facts, they are/were a week younger than Monopoly and a day older than Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

@The Old Crem, maybe save this and refer to it daily? Could share it with the family too.

    Warhol Superstars

Holy moly! Given that Sylvia Miles was 48 here and lived to 94, I'm thinking this pair absorbed all of the longevity and anti-ageing potential from the many prematurely deceased Warhol and Morrissey collaborators.

    Warhol Superstars

As he was the star of Flesh and Trash, was curious to see if there was anything recent from Joe Dallesandro, and there was an interview by Interview published in February. Paul Morrissey and his health gets a mention: LABRUCE: Is there anyone from those days you’re in touch with, like Paul Morrissey? DALLESANDRO: No, I don’t talk to Paul. I don’t think he’s so coherent anymore. His niece takes care of him. Joe looks great for a man in his mid-70s who's lived a fairly hard life and still smokes.

Unsolicited opinion but Lin-Manuel Miranda is a hack and Hamilton is seriously overrated.

    British Character Actors

Not sure I'd class her as a character actress. To the best of my knowledge she wasn't doing bit parts in Crossroads and Dr Who

Authors Last A Long Time, But....

American writer/critic/actor/artist Gary Indiana dead at 74. Very much a cult/underground figure by the looks of things. Lovely tribute from his friend, the rather gorgeous Brandon Flynn of 13 Reasons Why fame.

Not sure if I'm more shocked that that woman was in her early 50s or that Mamma Mia! was released 16 years ago.

    U.S Election

I find it interesting that Harris being a woman seems to have no impact in the discourse around this election. It's like all the excitement and symbolism of a female candidate was burned up through the Hillary Clinton experience.

    U.S Election

On that, worth quoting Silver/538: 'Still, a word of caution: You might be tempted to make a big deal about our forecast “flipping” to Trump, but it’s important to remember that a 52-in-100 chance for Trump is not all that different from a 58-in-100 chance for Harris — both are little better than a coin flip for the leading candidate. While Trump has undeniably gained some ground over the past couple weeks, a few good polls for Harris could easily put her back in the “lead” tomorrow. Our overall characterization of the race — that it’s a toss-up — remains unchanged.'
