Third place isn't too bad Good game all, an early congrats to @machotrouts

Personally, I'm not going to include Jimmy Carter or his wife this year. Maybe they die, I just don't think it's likely regardless of how huge their deaths would be.

A 91 year old that smokes is definitely being picked up by me, my bet is an unexpected stroke.

Deaths: 1. John McCain (chosen by DL) 6. Stefan Karl Stefanson (not) 10. Billy Graham (DL) 11. Lord Peter Carrington (DL) 13. Denis Norden (DL) 15. Stan Lee (DL) 26. Doug Ellis (not) 27. George Bush Sr. (DL) 40. Devin Lima (not) 42. Barbara Bush (DL) 45. Connie Sawyer (not) 47. Tessa Jowel (DL) 48. Stephen Hawking (DL) 49. Aretha Franklin (not) So my prediction of who they would choose is matching my personal deathlist numbers with 14, and is 2 above the official deathlist DL did not include 5 of these people, I think their only mistake from my list was not including Stefan Karl Stefanson and Aretha Franklin, for the official deathlist the other three: - Doug Ellis, not completely famous, his death wasn't a certainty. - Devin Lima, he doesn't even have a wikipedia page, I wouldn't have known about him without googling him from Deathlist. His death was pretty likely, but not very deathlisty. - Connie Sawyer, she was 105 and in her day had her fame, but she wasn't too famous or her death wasn't expected.

I feel something is up with him considering he wasn't supposed to be in Singapore for this long, but I'm not sure if that is a reliable news source.
-
I have it on good authority that she's doing well, for now.

Oh okay, I get it. I still disagree with the original phrasing, but I get the thought process now.
-
Are you counting Nixon or Johnson? I also googled it to get more names - Truman, Coolidge, Teddy Roosevelt etc without diving into the nineteenth century.
-
I will just leave this here, because in the case of Bush, one of his final acts as President shows what a gentleman he is in defeat.

Haven't checked for a while, lost my first place Only 6 points away from first, it's smells so close, but looks so far. Congrats to machotrouts for being on top!

Famous people you really don't care if they die
John Key replied to ImissMontpellier's topic in DeathList Forum
I cared about Alan Rickman because of how iconic he was in Harry Potter, Prince I never really knew or heard of, Muhammad Ali was a cultural icon/legend for boxing, his death was totally worth getting worked up for. -

I really thought he would make it this year, almost got it too. He was on my 'uncountable three', he just didn't make my top 50. Not much into the universe, but Stan Lee's made a name for himself through his passion, he's a legend.

Wasn't even aware you won it 2016 and 2017, just realised you came in second place too! Games on!
-
I won last year Beginners luck I think, I'll give it another go but I've never won anything else!

Falling is a bad sign... she might make her way onto my list.

So, How's Your 2019 Shortlist Looking?
John Key replied to RadGuy's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
This year is my first year, so however many I've got in my signature below (12/50 I think). To answer the main question, I've got a soft list compiled every time I think someone would be a good add, but will start looking into these sick old bludgers in December. -
Real question, is lip kissing in non-romantic family members common at all? I barely let family kiss my cheek.

Francis looks like he's gonna attack Benedict with the tickle monster

A lot of these are good suggestions. I will choose not to actually comment on them though in the unlikely event that this tie continues. I wouldn't want to have a voice that influences my own win in unfair circumstances.

In my opinion let 'em go to the West Island, it improves the intelligence of both our countries.

Whoever has less money in their bank account? Whoever's last pay-check was the lowest? Whoever is in the most university debt?

Got to 12, I had forgotten to cross off Aretha Franklin and missed Doug Ellis dying a couple days ago!

We have alcohol and know that it causes death. The most damage I have seen scientific study of marijuana causing is a few IQ points if teenagers smoke a lot. There are more harmful drugs, bigger wars to fight. There should be legal highs for adults like marijuana that aren't harmful, because otherwise we find ways to do it anyway. My parents tell me similar stories of their marijuana friends dying early of lung cancer, and I asked them if they were into harder stuff, the usual answer was that they at least smoked ciggies too. If alcohol is legal then marijuana should be too, considered there's more than one way to take this natural devil.
