What a long, long, long, long strange trip it's been.

This thread has gotten so long it's difficult to tell what has and hasn't been told. That being said, here's an oldie from my best friend's Rabbi. This very old Rabbi in NYC hits the state lottery for 100 million. The congregation is ecstatic! "Oy vey!" they cry, "oy vey! Vhat are you going to do vith the money?" "Vell, the first thing I should do," says the Rabbi, "is to build a monument to Hitler." "HITLER?!" they cry, "What are you? Meshugena? Hitler? He vas a monster!" "I know, I know," says the Rabbi, rolling up his sleeve, "but, hey, he gave me the numbers!"

http://www.latimes.com/news/printedition/c...,1,249856.story Hazel Court, 82; 'scream queen' in horror films in 1950s and '60s From the Associated Press April 17, 2008 Hazel Court, an English beauty who co-starred with the likes of Boris Karloff and Vincent Price in popular horror movies in the 1950s and '60s, has died. She was 82. Court died Tuesday at her home near Lake Tahoe from a heart attack, her daughter, Sally Walsh, said Wednesday. Although she had a substantial acting career both in England and on American television, Court was perhaps best known for her work in such films as 1963's "The Raven." She co-starred with Price, Karloff and Peter Lorre in the Roger Corman take on the classic Edgar Allen Poe poem. Corman directed her in five movies. Like other "scream queens" of the era, Court's roles often relied on her cleavage and her ability to shriek in fear and die horrible deaths. "The Premature Burial," "The Masque of the Red Death," "The Curse of Frankenstein" and "Devil Girl From Mars" helped propel her to cult status and brought her fan mail even in her later years. The daughter of a professional cricket player, Court was born Feb. 10, 1926, in the English town of Sutton Coldfield. As a teenager, she was appearing in stage productions when she was spotted and signed by the J. Arthur Rank Organisation, which owned movie studios and theaters. Court got her first movie bit part by the time she was 18 and went on to become a popular actress and a pinup girl. "She was one of the great beauties of all time," Walsh said. "She was a redhead with really green eyes and almost . . . the perfect face. She was on the cover of almost every magazine." Court appeared in some of the low-budget Hammer Film Productions horror movies and co-starred with Patrick O'Neal in the 1957 British TV comedy series "Dick and the Duchess." In the late 1950s, she came to the United States to work on TV's "Alfred Hitchcock Presents." Walsh, who lives in Los Angeles, said Court is survived by another daughter, Courtney Taylor of Ojai; a son, Jonathan Taylor of Reno; and stepdaughters Anne Taylor Fleming of Los Angeles and Avery Taylor of San Francisco.

I knew Boyd but hadn't seen him in years. With apologies to his fans, he was a complete asshole. He made his name taking credit for the work and talent of others and treated his people like dirt. Good riddance in my book.

I have a long and storied fascination with Ms. Young, I hope she lasts long enough for fruition.

You'd think he might eventually get it right. The world would be a better place, he's a "scheitscoff". (My German spelling sucks.)

http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2007/11/12/...Laraine-Day.php LOS ANGELES: Laraine Day, who appeared in nearly 50 films including the Alfred Hitchcock thriller "Foreign Correspondent," has died. She was 87. Day died of natural causes Saturday at her daughter's home in Utah, where she moved following the death of her husband of 47 years, producer Michel M. Grilikhes, earlier this year, said publicist Dale Olson. Day starred opposite Joel McRea in 1940's "Foreign Correspondent" and also appeared in such films as "Mr. Lucky," "I Take This Woman," "The Story of Dr. Wassell," "My Dear Secretary" and "The High and the Mighty." She appeared in her last movie, "The Third Voice" in l960, the year she married Grilikhes. During a break in her film career, Day co-starred on a national theater tour with Gregory Peck in "Angel Street," and also took the stage in "Lost Horizon," 'The Women" and "Time of the Cuckoo." In 1951, Day became one of U.S. television's first female talk show hosts in "The Laraine Day Show." More, at above link.

Note to self: Visit the Extra-Curricular forum more often! Would you believe I was actually in London at the time? Flew out of Heathrow the following Sunday.

The host of the longest running game show in TV history? Of course he will. He just recently retired, too, btw, and retiring after long careers can be deadly to men, more so than women. Drew Carey (the fat bastard) took his place.

Topics merged, also being reported on the BBC news website Okay, I not only used the DL search, I ran a page search in Firefox. Something is wrong. This thread was not visible to me when I posted mine. Guess I didn't go back far enough with my page searches.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,303278,00.html LOS ANGELES — Joey Bishop, the stone-faced comedian who found success in night clubs, television and movies but became most famous as a member of Frank Sinatra's boisterous Rat Pack, has died at his home, his publicist said Thursday. Bishop was the group's last surviving member. Peter Lawford died in 1984, Sammy Davis Jr. in 1990, Dean Martin in 1995, and Sinatra in 1998. Bishop died Wednesday night of multiple causes at his home in Newport Beach, publicist and longtime friend Warren Cowen said. He was at one time linked to Deborah Kerr, I believe. Coincidence?

Strange, I would have thought it would be the other way 'round.

It works fine. The one thing missing from this upgrade is the "quick reply" box at the bottom of the page. Other than that, it seems to be running well.

C'mon, Clive, it's a fad! Join in! You bastage...

It only took you ten months to be right! Impressive. You certainly must not mean me? I haven't posted in this thread, I'm sure of it. Until now, that is.
