  1. Dutch crime journalist and TV personality Peter R. de Vries has just been shot in Amsterdam: https://www.dutchnews.nl/news/2021/07/journalist-peter-r-de-vries-injured-in-shooting-in-amsterdam/

Abroad he is probably best known for his work on the Natalee Holloway case. He is one of those people you respect for their work but that irritate you because of the pompousness and bordering-on-narcissism way they do it.

Let's hope for the best, but it doesn't look good..

Phillip was really the first celebrity that I ever followed the health of, so sort of strange that he has died after all of these years.

Come to think of it.. I think it was Phil that made me stumble upon the deatlist some years ago. End of an Era.

At 118 years old, the world's oldest living person is preparing to carry the Olympic torch this May in Japan.

Kane Tanaka, who has twice survived cancer, lived through two global pandemics and loves fizzy drinks, will take the flame as it passes through Shime, in her home prefecture of Fukuoka.

I noticed she is wearing a nasal cannula, must have some lung issue. Maybe not surprising at 118, but I thought she also looks a bit worse compared to the last photos I saw of her.

  4. What I like most about this whole story is that there's something or someone to hate for everybody. The tabloids are disgusting and have treated Meghan horribly from day one. Then there's the dated institution of the Royal family, with among its ranks more than a few nasty, dysfunctional snobs. All the same,  Harry and Meghan themselves manage to come across as a couple of disgustingly entitled cunts. Great stuff

Interesting point to note from the article – Tanaka's grandson states that she is aiming to beat Jeanne Calment's longevity record. :o #GoKane

If Kane is Abel to beat Calment's record.. Well, that woud be biblical.

PS. Told you they’d go for the race card. Nobody really cared how brown the baby would be because in reality it was always going to be an irrelevance in the grander scheme of things. Especially at the rate Kate was firing them out.

Well, to be fair, they are very racist. So much so, in fact, that at least one member of the royal family has been known to don nazi uniform.

  7. He is not even near death! My feeling, as usual, is that he will destroy his illness and that it will in fact be the Americans that will do the dying!

RIP to the inventor of alternative facts.

  8. Hospitalized over Christmas according to our pals at the Sun. Discharged and apparently 'fine' now.

Although he obviously has been looking like shit for decades, the physical deterioration in the past couple of years has been quite significant. Maybe not that bad a pick after all.

    New pic.

Looks very rough and is the farewell to Balmoral code for last time he will be photographed again?

The way they edited the picture to remove the reflection of the car window and increase the brightness wouldn't do me any favors either.

Original picture and a few more here

Looks all right for now. Stil able to travel and get out of a car on his own.

Kane Tanaka is only 70 days away from the nr. 3 spot. I think she'll make it, but for a 117-year-old every single day is another achievement.

Kane Tanaka cracked the top 5 last week, with just three weeks left to take 3rd place. Does anybody have news on how she's doing?

Deffo agree with those saying the big headliner hasn't gone yet.

Prince Phil or Jimmy Carter are probably top of the tree on that score.

Although there's a host of high profile musicians who aren't getting any younger as well.

I think so far this year - at least UK wise - it's quiet hard to pin down the headline death out of those who've already. Jack Charlton, Vera Lynn, Olivia de Haviland all feel like they would have headlined any other year in the past. Honestly not sure who I'd give it to out of that lot, probably Vera Lynn?

Good point about the aging musicians! A lot of them didn't lead the healthiest of lives and many smoked heavily for decades. If someone like Keith Richards gets the rona... But I'm also thinking of Bob Dylan. He would be a real headliner.
