21 minutes ago, MrWonderful said:Tom Dempsey, the former NFL kicker who famously made a 63-yard FG in 1970 (on the final play to win the game), has died from complications of the coronavirus. His 63-yard boot was the NFL record solely for 28 years and was shared for another 15 years after that, before Matt Prater broke the record with a 64-yarder in 2013. His kick was even more famous because Dempsey was born without toes on his right foot (his kicking foot), and he wore a special shoe with a flattened toe surface.
Apparently Dempsey had battled Alzheimer's and dementia since 2012, and tested positive for COVID-19 on March 25 at the nursing home in New Orleans where he resided. Four days ago it was announced that he had recovered, but the good news was short-lived, obviously. At least 15 residents of the Lambeth House retirement home have now died from the virus, according to the Times-Picayune.
Dempsey was 73.
Please don't refer to his age in the past tense.

I am genuinely sad that Bill Withers has died though.
Why sad? It's definitely better to be angry
