John Thaw was missed in 2002 but him dying so quickly was a huge shock at the time. Was talking years left weeks before.
On the DDP archive there is a link to a chat where someone says she announced it had spread to her bones( in other words terminal) in August 1998. I was only a toddler then so I can’t remember. The first death I remember is Princess Margaret. ( I did react as a baby to Princess Diana’s death but I don’t remember it.)

Interesting in 2004 Lesley Ball, wife of Alan, was a pick but never got a Q/O. Now a days such a pick, wife of a famous sports person, would not be allowed but would have a much higher chance of obiting.
I wonder how many people have been double misses for both the DDP and the main list. Anne Haddy is one I noticed looking at the old archives.

Maybe Dusty Springfield for 1999 as she was reported terminally Ill and the DDP records show that was known enough for several teams to pick her.

But the poor lad really has had a lot of rotten luck
It might be like what Daley Blind had with his heart device which went odd while he playing and looks and probably feels a bit like a heart attack.

As reported on the Time Added thread, he has been hospitalised following a suspected heart attack.I think with a case like this (Person reported to be admitted to hospital in possible serious condition.) any reports of a death on wiki before any source mentions it are probably vandalism.

Well he won’t.Obvs.
So it will have to wait until probate or the GRO Index mentions him unless some sort of obituary or death notice appears.

May have been a wise decision to drop.
Spoke to the Guardian earlier about Gerry O'Hara and they said they won't be running an obituary due to a big backlog of showbiz type obits (most of which have already been published online but haven't yet appeared in print). News to me they were still printing the Guardian but whatever!Without an obituary when will he be able to posted on the Deaths in 2023 page on Wiki. And even the list of the of missed on DDP requires some evidence.

Just now, Death Impends said:Good catch. I deferred to the fact that her celeb code had 021 in it, but that precludes DDPs from before 2003.
I wasn’t searching for it I was just reading the archive as I am trying to keep busy.

She was also picked in 1998 according to this. https://web.archive.org/web/20011225084237/https://www.derbydeadpool.co.uk/deadpool1998/entries/selections.htm

Makes you wonder if her dementia-stricken husband is affected by it.
I wonder if he is a DDP selection - if he is still with it enough to be affected by it he could go this year.

Congratulations on the 10 points. And here was me thinking you got the wrong tennis player when Naomi Oskaka got pregnant.
I actually did think of having her because of a rumour on the blind gossip websites about a year ago that seemed to be referring to her being upset one day that she wasn’t pregnant because she wanted a break from tennis.

I managed to miss all news about the Cumbria shootings in 2009 until 9pm that evening despite being online most of the day.
John Thaw was a DDP hit for a team full of punts and features the majority of their survivors still around today.
