OK, perhaps not as gaunt!
-
Player looks absolutely fantastic. He's so into fitness that it's not much of a surprise. He looks and moves considerably better than Nicklaus. It looks to me like Jack has noticeably slipped in the last year or two. He's more overweight and he walks and moves a little less steadily. RoverAndOut is right, he walks to the tee partially on the arm of his wife, Barbara. I don't like the vibes I'm getting with him.
-
Nah, Clint doesn't look gaunt like this.
-
I guess I was fucking wrong, wasn't I? On the bright side, his ex-wife's killer is now dead.
-
Another outing in public, wearing the same clothes as last time. Still looks rough, but he's able to move around unaided. I suppose that's something when you're 94. Will still be going on my list next year if he makes it.
-
First time I've thought this: he has to go on my list next year if he makes it. He's looking VERY gaunt now. In those pics of him coming out of the convenience store, look at his right arm below the elbow. It's like skeletal. And the discoloration not only on his hands/wrists/arms but his face too. I suppose it's good that he can still stand on his own, albeit with the cane and his wife's assistance coming down those steps at the restaurant, but he does not look like a healthy person here, not even at his age. But I know, he's 94. He's alive and that's better than the alternative, I suppose, as long as he's not suffering.
-
I'm very happy to see this, as he doesn't look like a man in his final days here. Plus he looks, dare I say, lucid and happy. Good on his family for being so supportive, including his ex-wife. I'd be quite glad to not get him as a hit this year.

Joan Collins ultra glamorous British actress and Hollywood star
MrWonderful replied to Gooseberry Crumble's topic in DeathList Forum
Truly, I don't get any negative comments about her appearance. She still looks excellent for her age, and she doesn't look too fat nor too thin/gaunt, either. She also doesn't look like one of those old celebrities who have had so much plastic surgery that they appear to be rubber-faced lizard people. May she live another decade, at least! -
Phillips officially dropped out and endorsed Biden, just for the record. Getting to my main point, discussion about Biden dropping dead amuses me...when it's Trump who is his opponent! Some of y'all act like Trump is this picture of youthful vigor. He's almost 80 himself, is clearly in cognitive decline himself (the speech gaffes are piling up), and he's also an obese tub of shit. Perhaps Biden will die first, sure, but Trump's odds have to be right there with him.

Yeah, just a total miss on my part. Even knew he had stepped aside after the draft last year to "focus on his health", and I should have made the connection that this was 7 years after his stage 4 diagnosis. I should have made a notation that he was 2024 material. Especially as much as I watch football coverage. He was a pioneer in the business and from every account I've seen, just a wonderful human being. Cancer sucks. -

Chris Mortensen, a fixture on ESPN's NFL coverage for decades, has died at the age of 72. -
Yep, just a double gut-punch for the family.
-
And now he's gone. A very, very funny man. But decades of demons, plus Parkinson's. Rest well, Mr. Lewis.
-
He's let it be known that he has not sought treatment for his third brain tumor.
-
Well, damn. That certainly explains, well, basically everything. So we're in Bruce Willis territory here. She's clearly exhibited the symptoms for years, as did Willis. She'll be an auto-add to my lists next year if she's still with us.
-
I'd be surprised if he sees 70, but hopefully he has a few years left, at least. Doesn't seem to be in imminent danger.

I guess it depends on how one wants to look at things. Of course, Perry was best known for Friends. And while I wouldn't call him a prolific film actor, he still appeared in 15 different movies from 1988-2015. He did star in 3 notable films, I'd say, with the two of them being pretty obvious: the aforementioned The Whole Nine Yards, plus its sequel. The other was a rom-com with Salma Hayek called Fools Rush In, released in 1997. Perry was famous enough that he had top billing here, too. Anyway, I guess if the same organization is going to have two separate ceremonies, as BAFTA apparently does, I don't view it as a big deal that he was omitted from the film awards show, though I probably would have included him because, hey, he was a film actor that starred in at least a few movies that people clearly know about. Of course, I'm quite certain that the Oscars telecast will include him on its In Memoriam segment, since it only honors film.

Pollard underwent heart transplant surgery yesterday, and it seems that he's feeling good enough to already stand up and move about, albeit with assistance. -
So he has advanced/metastatic prostate cancer, since he's undergoing chemo. Having said that, he's probably not going to die anytime soon, at least not of prostate cancer. I suppose if you were going to have a form of metastatic cancer, this isn't one of the worst ones to have. According to statistics, he has an excellent chance to live for at least 5 years and, in fact, 10 years. But he's now closer to 80 than 70, so perhaps it won't quite be that long. Still, he's probably out of the danger zone for the time being.

I'm a moderate Democrat, and I will vote for Biden without hesitation (not that it matters, because I live in California) because Trump is not just a truly disgraceful, vile human being, but also a dangerous one. And yes, Biden is old and obviously past his prime. But Trump is the best possible opponent for him, because for the few hundred thousand voters over the few swing states that will decide the election, they essentially will go into the voting booth knowing that Biden's biggest perceived weakness (he's old, senile, etc.) is also something that Trump shares. Trump is barely younger and has also clearly exhibited that he's in obvious cognitive decline. And that's when the fact that Trump is much more hated than Biden is by these particular voters could play in Biden's favor. This has been my theory the whole time. I'm not talking about Trump supporters and most Republicans (and that goes hand in hand now, really); they obviously hate Biden, that's just the way it is. But the difference is that not only do Biden supporters and Democrats hate Trump, but so do independents/swing voters. He has baggage -- more baggage than he did even when he left office -- and these people do not like him. In the early primary contests, it's a poor sign for Trump that he's losing independents badly. Say what you want about Biden, but these particular voters don't hate the guy. The vast majority of them wish that a better alternative were available to them, sure, but they don't hate the man. So yeah, that's my theory. I agree with Nikki Haley that she would defeat Biden easily, and so would any "normal" Republican in this cycle. Haley would draw such an obvious contrast in terms of age for these voters, plus she's not hated by these voters. One worry I do have for Biden, despite my beliefs above, is that perhaps enough on the far left will stay home and not vote for Biden (or vote for Kennedy or something, a la Jill Stein ruining Hillary's chances in 2016), to give Trump just enough to eke out enough all-important swing states. These idiots are pissed at Biden for his handling of the Israel-Hamas conflict...like, what the hell do they think Trump would do, by comparison? It's idiocy of the highest order.

To follow up on this, here's Pollard posting on X/Twitter from his ICU bed, revealing that he's awaiting said transplant and is on a donor list, classified as a stage 2, he says. -
I can't vouch for what happened when Harry visited his father, but I agree with you on everything you said above. He and his wife are both vile people.

Mackins has written that it spread to "several lymph nodes", but doesn't mention anything further. If that's all it's metastasized to, she has a shot at a recovery. If it's metastasized to further parts of the body, unfortunately it's just a matter of time, even if it may take a few years. Particularly in pools that would give more points for a younger person's death, she's certainly one to watch for sure.

Yes, I figured Song Ping would. Thanks for the info, and that's a good point about Zhang's status as a supercentenarian. According to Wikipedia, the 50th-oldest person in the world as of today's date is 112 years and 141 days old. And get this: of the 50 names listed, 49 out of the 50 are women! Maybe Zhang would QO after all, especially if he just makes it another year or certainly two.

Just looked him up, wow, 110! Would he obit?
